Rating: 5 Stars

The second book in the Untouchable trilogy takes you on a journey of love, passion, sacrifice, heartbreak, and hope. She touched his heart, but what happens next should be…Unforgivable.

So when Untouchable ended we learned that the new guy Evan Lewis was really Micah Gavereen, the sexy, Italian mob hit man sent to kill Leese. This book picks up where Untouchable left off, with Leese and Micah planning a wedding after he had gotten out of the mob to be with her. I KNOW! Shocker right? I was so happy they fought so hard to be together and overcame the obstacles in the first book. The wedding goes off without a hitch and Leese and Micah spend a very steamy honeymoon exploring each other. Things get so intense between them that Micah has to give her CPR because she actually stops breathing! Talk about hot, that shit had ME holding my breath too! Everything seems to be going so well between these two and they are so much in love that when Leese is briefly kidnapped yet again by the mob I almost held out hope that things would be OK. But this author knows how to keep your emotions in a constant state of FUCKED! Leese is confronted by Micah's old boss D'Angelo and he gives her no choice but to leave Micah so he can have him back. Leese resists at first But when he threatens everything she loves, she decides it would be better for everyone if she did leave. She calls Ryan and explains everything to him and he helps her get away, making it look like she ran off with him. Micah doesn't believe she would just leave and chases her down but she does such a great job hiding that after a while he does exactly what D'Angelo wants him to do. He goes back to being the best hit man in the mob.

Months go by with Leese and Ryan living together in his home state of Colorado and the lines between friends and lovers is starting to blur. Leese is bound to honor her commitment to Micah even though their marriage has since been annulled. While in Colorado Leese is approached one day by a mystery man from L.A. who wants her to be in a televised singing competition that is about to begin filming. When she realizes she might be able to vocally sing her apology to Micah in front of the world she agrees and so begins the next leg of the drama. Week after week Leese sings her heart out in hopes that Micah will hear her and every song choice is picked for that reason alone. When Micah shows up after one of her performances she wants nothing more than to throw herself into his arms and be with him again but her promise to keep him safe from D'Angelo sends her running and Micah is crushed yet again. He is determined to get her back and follows her home but he realizes that something is wrong with him and chalks it up to D'Angelo putting something into his wine from his lunch meeting that day. When Micah confronts Leese at her home he does something violent and Unforgivable that just might end their beautiful love for good.

This book had me in so many knots just remembering all these things is causing my heart rate to pick up speed. I am in love with this series despite the angst and depth of emotion it has drawn out of me. This book is a beautiful blend of Suspense, Drama and Romance. The love story between Leese and Micah is amazing and at times makes you feel on top of the world and other times takes you to the depths of the sea. I have to say that Leese drove me completely fucking crazy in this book. Her relationship with Ryan made me want to tear small kittens in half. I swear my neighbors are probably pissed off at me for stomping and screaming throughout the whole two days I spent reading this. I literally had to fight the urge to hurl my laptop across the room! While Leese is on the run from Micah she gets way to close to Ryan for my taste. Leese and Micah are one of those couples that you root for constantly and you hate anyone who tries to get in the way. What I did love about her is that no matter what happened with Ryan she knew without a doubt that Micah was who she was supposed to be with.

Micah Gavereen is one of my absolute favorite book Boyfriends. Just saying his name makes me giddy just knowing the things this man can do! I loved watching him teach Leese  how to have hot SEX! I swear this guy could make the polar ice caps melt!  I seriously love him so much I have a hard time with him not being real. In book one he was the torn conflicted hit man who despite his better judgement fell in love with his mark. He had every intention of killing her even though he loved her and seeing him struggle was painful yet beautiful. In this book he was the loving, attentive and hot husband to Leese until that bitch lost her mind! Seeing him so devastated by her abandonment was brutal because you fall so hard for him. Even when he goes back into the mob you can't help but love him, especially when he makes a crucial mistake that ends up being a HUGE catalyst in the story I still loved him.

When everything comes around full circle Micah learns exactly what sends Leese running and handles things himself which in turn sets off a ripple effect that is felt well into the next book. I can't praise this series enough because it's been WEEKS since I read them and I STILL can't stop thinking about it. There is a specific moment in this book that involves a Breaking Benjamin song..

that made me stop and listen to it and I'm glad I did because the lyrics are so hauntingly accurate for the situation and will burn itself into your gut so when you hear it again you will only think of that moment. I loved that about this book. It was so gripping and emotional that a SONG can make me feel those emotions all over again. Lindsay Delagair has become one of my top favorite authors and has done such a good job with this series especially being a new author. I hope you give these books a try because you really need a guy like Micah on your boyfriend list!

He rose slightly and looked at me, “I don’t have this kind of strength, baby—I wanted to wait, but I’ve never needed anything so bad in my life.” pg 14

“Don’t do it. Je t’aime, Annalisa. Please, baby, don’t leave me twice—I couldn’t take it. Tell me now that you want to be with me. I’ll take you away from here and make love to you until the world fades—don’t leave me, again.” pg 266

“We’ve been through hell and back, Annalisa, but it’s all been worth it to be right here, right now in your arms. I love you with more strength than I possess in my body,” pg 345

Review and Giveaway: HOPELESS by Colleen Hoover

SYNOPSIS:

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

Globug's Review

No worries, I'm not going to write any spoilers. Colleen Hoover is an absolute genius. The chapter headings are dates. You'll notice that the story begins and then takes you back to two months earlier. This story about a girl named Sky takes on some serious subject matter. But before it gets deep you fall in love with Sky and her best friend Six. Yes there's a story to the name Six and the poor girls name is actually Seven. Sky has been sheltered her whole life. She's always been  home schooled. But she's had experience with boys thanks to Six. Boys have never brought emotion of any kind out in Sky. With the reputation her and Six have built as being sluts, despite being a virgin, the first day in a public school proves to be as bad as the movies make it. Sky handles it though.

One of my fave characters in the story is Breckin. He befriends Sky on the first day of school. He introduces himself with the greeting "If it isn't the whore of Babylon" making it obvious that her unearned reputation has made it's way around. Then he proceeds to admit he's Mormon, which is code for gay. But he happens to be both, LOL. Now lets get to the meat of the story. And by meat of course I'm referring to Dean Holder our leading man.

Holder's reputation also proceeds him. Of course there's more to his story than what the rumors tell. Finally a boy who can cause emotions she thought she was incapable of feeling and she's scared he's

Blank_zps2e964764

One of my favorite parts is when Sky and Holder are sharing some of their "firsts" together. It was one of the best and most intense love scenes and it didn't involve sex. That takes some serious writing skills people.

“Let me inform you of something,” he says in a low voice.  “The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you’ve never felt anything when someone’s kissed you, then no one’s ever really kissed you.  Not the way I plan on kissing you."

Once Sky and Holder discover the truths about each other they discover the past that ties them and their futures together. There's so much Sky has to overcome once she's in touch with certain memories. The story is so painful because you know that somewhere in this world Sky's story is a true story for a real little girl. I can only wish for all those with a similar story to have someone like Holder in their life. There are so many light/funny moments in the story and so much love between Sky and Holder that you won't feel like it's the saddest thing you ever read. It really has the perfect joy/pain ratio.

Colleen Hoover has written another epic story. It will break your heart and heal it as well. Love is never hopeless. Love can be a miracle and a saving grace in a life that has been stripped of hope. Colleen has perfectly written that in this story.

The Sea Of Tranquility by Katja Millay Review

Synopsis:

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shape shifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Full of rage and without a purpose, former pianist Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone discovering her past and to make the boy who took everything from her pay.

All 17 year-old Josh Bennett wants is to build furniture and be left alone, and everyone allows it because it’s easier to pretend he doesn’t exist. When your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, a hot mess of a girl who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. The more he gets to know her, the more of a mystery she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he may ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a slow-building, character-driven romance about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

Please Note: This book contains mature content including profanity, drug/alcohol use, and sexual situations/language

Hootie says:

I'm not entirely sure how to describe the best book I know I will ever read. I always hear about how books changed people, and thought it was bullshit. I no longer think it's bullshit. I won't be using my usual Gif's and funny pictures in this review because for once a book has left me almost utterly speechless. I am just existing right now but I will try to explain what this book is about. Just know that nothing I say will accurately describe how this book will affect you.

17 year old Nastya Kashnikov is a very broken young girl who is still coming to terms with something very tragic that happened to her when she was 15. This event has changed her from the once beautiful, happy child into a dark and angry person and when she remembers what happened she stops talking all together. The silence is killing her family so she leaves to live with her aunt because she just can't see the looks of disappointment on their faces anymore. Moving 2 hours from the place it all happened should help the stares and the knowing looks Nastya is used to getting. The rumors and gossip about the way she dresses is nothing, it's the knowing eyes she can't take. She is just an anonymous blip on the radar and she wants it that way. When she sees a boy sitting across the courtyard one day, completely cut off from the other kids she can't help but notice how alone he is and wonders what is it about him that keeps people away. Enter Josh Bennett! This boy is just as broken as Nastya having lost everyone he loves, he just wants to be left alone. Most of the kids do except his longtime best friend Drew Leighton. When Nastya gets the heel of her shoe caught on the sidewalk and a group of girls start in on her about her appearance Josh steps in to help making sure later that she knows he won't help again. To clear her mind of all the things weighing her down she runs nightly as a way to exhaust herself so she can sleep and in order to stave off the nightmares that haunt her she writes it all down in notebooks so it won't have any power over her dreams. One night while out running she gets lost and ends up unbeknownst to her at Joshs' house. From that night on she comes to his garage and watches him work never saying a word. He does his best to get her to leave him alone but after a while becomes dependant on her company. Throughout the story Nastya and Josh become close, she eventually opens up to him and speaks after going 2 years without a word to anyone. Josh slowly opens up to her about his loss but all she ever gives away are cryptic hints that drive him crazy because he doesn't really want to know but at the same time he does. Nastya agrees to let a fellow student draw her for his art class which will inadvertently bring her face to face with her past and become the catalyst to this amazing story.

I have never felt so speechless before and anyone who knows me, knows that is nearly impossible. This is probably the most beautiful story I will ever read simply because of the profound effect it is having on me 24 hours later. I can think about nothing else but this story and I hope that never changes. This book killed me then healed me, it broke me then pieced me back together, it dropped me and caught me. There is no way to put my feelings into a box because I ran the gamut of emotions during this book. When I started it, I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I wanted to know what happened to this girl to make her this way and you don't find out immediately, you find out in small bits. I soon realized I was chained to my couch unmoving while the world around me kept turning but I was mesmerized by this beautiful and tragic story. This girl who was once the town jewel known for her talent on the piano will steal your heart the more you get to know her. I didn't realize I was getting so emotionally attached to these characters until things between them started to get intense. The book is slow building but it's much better that way because you get to know Nastya and Josh better the more in depth it goes. Josh Bennett both made me love him and hate him throughout this book. At times he came across as a jerk and other times he was so amazing it was hard to be mad for long. These two broken people come to depend on each other and help heal their emotional scars. The supporting characters amazed me! Drew Leighton starts off as this douche bag, with his sexual innuendos towards Nastya but once you get to the heart of why he is this way another crevasse opens up in your heart making room for him. Clay Whitaker where do I even start. His character may be supporting but he plays a big part in bringing this story to it's head. He is a very talented artist and draws Nastya in a way she doesn't see herself anymore. He is able to capture her the way she was before the tragic event that turned her into who she is today. There are 2 things I will never look at in the same way because of this book and they are:

Pennies and Pearl buttons.

The moment in the story where the pennies come in was such a sweet beautiful moment that represented hope for both Josh and Nastya. Watching her slowly start to hope again was magical. Watching her dare to dream again made me feel a nervous elation hoping that nothing else would cause her pain ever again.

The pearl buttons to me, come to mean innocence lost. Two major scenes in this book feature the pearl buttons and both scenes choked me up and had tears in my eyes. It takes a very emotional book to make me shed actual tears and while I may get misty eyed about certain stories I was full out crying this time. During a particular scene I started to come undone and thankfully my best friend Globug chose that moment to call and check on me because she knows when I am not on twitter much during the day that means a book has consumed me. Everything is The Sea Of Tranquility and nothing hurts. If this book can reach inside my once blackened, broken heart and bring out emotions in me I have buried, then I know it will touch you in the same way. The whole book was incredibly beautiful and the last two words spoken will echo in your heart and mind for a long time. I'll never be the same after reading this book and I wouldn't want to be.

Synopsis:

Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.

Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.

But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

**Warning - This is a Mature YA/New Adult book. Contains sex and violence**

Hootie Says:

I was recently given and arc of Ten Tiny Breaths and I have to say it was a beautiful experience. This book was like finding money hidden at the bottom of your purse! You know that feeling you get when all you have left to eat is a pack of ramen noodles and a snack pack then you find that money and you're like...

So you take that money and splurge on a large pizza, a 2 liter coke and a box of little Debbie's? No? Seriously I'm the only one who's ever done that? FAIL! You people are missing out!!!! Anyway what I'm trying to say is Ten Tiny Breaths was FUCKING AMAZING! I love when a book leaves me speechless, kinda like I feel right this minute! I'll try my best to accurately describe my all over the place emotions. Just be forewarned that this book is a definite..

The book opens up with Kacey and Livie Cleary on a bus heading to Miami to escape their pedophile uncle Raymond. Kacey has saved up her Starbucks earnings to pay for six months of rent and once they get settled into their apartment that she found online, they are introduced to their neighbor Storm who has a 5 year old daughter Mia that Livie bonds with instantly. One day while in the apartment basement washing her clothes she meets Trent, the sexy neighbor who lives right down the hall. He gets closer to her than she has let anyone get in a long time.

“You are so very beautiful.”

Trent is everything she wants and doesn't need at the same time. He makes her feel things she has denied herself. Realizing she can't let this happen she tries to keep her distance until Storm gets her a job a the club she works at.  Kacey isn't too sure about this because she has a phobia about touching people due to her tragic past. She learns how to bar tend thanks to Storm and notices Trent sitting across the bar watching her. Trying to keep her cool she does her best to ignore him but Trent just won't stop getting into her personal space. She joins a local gym to work out her demons on a punching bag, only to find Trent at the same place doing the same thing. Kacey is trying not to let anyone get close to her because people don't always stay, but  as the story progresses she can't help but get attached to Storm, Mia and Trent. Finally giving in, she starts Dating Trent and can't help falling for him. (DUH! He's hot, he's charming, and he's mysterious!) Kacey doesn't completely understand Trent, but she knows he has issues just like she does. After a particular event that threatens Storm, Kacey loses her shit and almost does something drastic if not for one of the club bouncers. Her and Trent have a heartfelt discussion and the next day he vanishes. She doesn't hear from him for a while but when he returns all hell breaks loose and shit gets more real than she can handle.

Do you guys hear that? It's the sound of me running down the street naked being chased by cops! lol Not really but if indecent exposure wasn't a crime I would soooo be all over that shit right now! To say I enjoyed this book would be blasphemy! I absolutely, mother effing loved this book! I want to marry it, make sweet love to it and have it's babies! K.A. Tucker stole my heart and I didn't think I had anything left to give! This beautiful story is centered on a broken young woman who has seen more tragedy in her life than any one person should. The only person besides herself she has left to count on is her little sister Livie. Because of a drunk driving accident she has this paralyzing fear of being touched, especially touching hands. When you find out why she feels this way it will break your heart! Just be sure to read this with tissues, I know I blew through a six pack of Kroger toilet paper in a day! (OK so maybe I have I.B.S and that's why I went through so much but DON'T JUDGE ME OK!) My heart broke several times during this book but I also was shocked to find myself laughing a lot too!

“But if they break out in a fucking round of Kumbaya, I’m so gone.”

Good money is good money and as long as I don’t have to strip, I can handle standing in the middle of a vagina circus.

“what if he’s a psychopath who tries to stuff kittens in ATMs?”

You need light hearted fun moments like these when you read a book that is emotional, and K.A. Tucker blended the dramatic elements with the humor very well! Know what else she did well? She wrote a fuckhawt male character that left me panting for more!

His eyes stay locked on mine as his index finger curls under the elastic band and begins to slide down.

Whoo! I need a bathtub full of ice right now! Trent is everything we women love. He's wounded and sexy and you can't help falling in love with him! The chemistry between Kacey and Trent was fantastically amazing! He was so sweet to her about her issues and tried helping at times when she let him.  Kacey was a tough nut to crack though, she's one of those characters you could see in an action flick kicking Chuck Norris' ass! I connected with her on an emotional level and felt as if I understood her motives and actions. The supporting characters were awesome! Storm quickly became one of my favorite characters because she was real. I love the way she stepped up to bat for Kacey and become a rock for her.

Plot twist ahead!! Weigh the anchor, secure the rigging!! Get your asses ready to be completely shocked by this wicked ass plot development. I won't say what it is, but I. DID. NOT. SEE. IT. COMING!

(OMG YOU GUYS THIS IS MY FAVORITE PICTURE EVER LOL!)

I thought I knew what was coming but the direction of the story changed leaving me scratching my head. I'm usually good at guessing by I have to give K.A. Tucker a round of applause for that mysterious little morsel! I was swept into the story and watching the main character go from the broken, bitter girl she was to the strong, mended woman she became was like tasting Nutella for the first time!

Once you step off the roller coaster you are left in a puddle of happy tears shed from this incredible journey you embarked on. Highs, Lows, Ups and Downs, Ten Tiny Breaths was amazing, I can't stress enough how much this book meant to me. It's definitely one that will stay with you long after you finish. Trust me when I tell you, that you will enjoy this book, and if not I will come to your house and sit on you with my big fat rhino ass!!!!!

HALE MAREE the tour and GIVEAWAY

 Hootie Says:

I'm always nervous when an author that has been successful in one genre, steps into another one. The cover for this book was really catchy and I had high hopes it would be good. Expectations = Met! I knew this was gonna be epic simply by getting 3% into the book and coming across this gem...

"I swap you two turkey for my daughter's pussy. Yeah? You like? you want?"

How can you not love a book by just that statement alone? You can't that's how. I absolutely loved this book! It was funny, sexy and suspenseful.

When Hale's dad comes home drunk with Otto Maree one night she overhears a conversation that could change her life. Due to an accident the two men came to an agreement to wed Hale to Otto's son Oscar in order to give Hale a better life and keep her dad from spilling the beans about the accident. When Hale meets Oscar she is attracted to him but tries her best to find a way out of this situation, especially knowing Oscar has a girlfriend. They end up going away to his father's beach house to get to know each other.

"Eggs sound good? I can make them however you want, as long as you want them scrambled."

Oscar and Hale start to get closer as the story progresses and she finds herself getting more and more used to the idea of marrying him. When Oscar's friends show up for a surprise visit all hell seems to break loose. Something happens during the course of this visit that blows the story wide ass open! I was so caught off guard by the revelation I nearly choked on my tongue! The way the story was going it pointed the finger in another direction up until shit got real. Once that situation is over Hale and Oscar get the wedding plans started.

"I think you're perfect for me Hale, and I'm just waiting for you to realize that I'm perfect for you too."

Now let's just take a minute to discuss the hotness that is Oscar Maree! I usually don't get into the whole "Book Boyfriend" thing because I feel like an old weirdo, but you bitches better back off my man! I am totally claiming this sumbitch! Not only was Oscar hot, but he said some of the sweetest things I have read from a book character.

"I've never felt like this about anyone else. When we're apart, it's like I find these little holes in myself. Without you, I'm not even me."

Fucking PINCH ME! If a guy ever said anything like that to me I would put my junk on his face in a heartbeat! Oscar was sexy, fun, and charming. He knew how to give Hale the space she needed while showing her how he felt at the same time. I didn't expect this book to be as hot as it was but I was soon fanning myself, and changing my drawers lol! There was a particular scene in the book that involves a necktie that was hot as hell!

"Would you like to touch me?"

Um Yes! Yes I certainly would! Show me the sign up sheet and I'll touch you ALL. NIGHT. LONG.

Aside from the Boom Boom there were really funny parts, and the relationship between Hale and her best friend Sher was genius!

"So, has he squeezed the melon? Felt around the first floor? Nuggled with a hobbit?"

I mean come on this book has it all! It was witty with the banter between Hale and Sher, the steam between Oscar and Hale was beyond sexy and the overall plot was exciting and original. I loved the way it ended, it totally made me all swoony and giggly. About the only thing I wish would have been included was Oscar's POV, but when it comes down to it, the damn book was just wonderful! You owe it to yourself to read this book.

                                                  RELEASE DATE DECEMBER 8,2012

Mercy blurb:
I dive.

The water doesn't hesitate like I do.  It floods my ears and nose and mouth.

It numbs my fingertips.

Like it's helping me.

I flail up to the surface once, which wasn't the plan, but I need to see the boat's oars licking away, so I know this is for real.  I can't swim and there's nobody on the pier this late on a Tuesday night.  The boardwalk lights don't even reach this far.

Under the water, my lungs become hard, useless tanks when they run out of air.  My body spasms and fights death like a tiny fish on a heavy line.  I breath algae.  I gasp seaweed.  It wasn't supposed to be this hard.  I figured I'd open my mouth and breathe and just swim away from my life, but the water squeezes my guts.  It rolls over me like a machine.

Even so, my will to survive is the first thing to drown.  I know, because I hold it under myself.
