Cheers! I'm a red headed Texan gal that writes adult romance novels. After spending way too much money on attaining degrees in education (bachelors, masters, no ph.D yet), I realized that I loved teaching, but, I needed to write. Somehow, I have struck a chaotic balance. Teacher by day, steamy romance writer by night..... I daydream a lot, drink wine, gossip about juicy plots with my friends and obsessively read. Check my blog for my latest favorite reads, what I'm writing, and other crazy things I encounter. My debut novel, THE HEALERS, will be available April 2013.

VAIN Tour + KINDLE FIRE Giveaway!!

Book Synopsis:

If you’re looking for a story about a good, humble girl, who’s been hurt by someone she thought she could trust, only to find out she’s not as vulnerable as she thought she was and discovers an empowering side of herself that falls in love with the guy who helps her find that self, blah, blah, blah...then you’re gonna’ hate my story.

Because mine is not the story you read every time you bend back the cover of the latest trend novel. It’s not the “I can do anything, now that I’ve found you/I’m misunderstood but one day you’ll find me irresistible because of it” tale. Why? Because, if I was being honest with you, I’m a complete witch. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a friend using, drug abusing, sex addict from Los Angeles. I’m every girlfriend’s worst nightmare and every boy’s fantasy.

I’m Sophie Price and this is the story about how I went from the world’s most envied girl to the girl no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Sophie Price is the girl all girls wish they could be. She's the Queen Bee in her group. She hangs with the richest kids in their California community that rarely have boundries set for them by parents who take more interest in self indulgence than raising kids with morals or values. Sophie happens to be the most beautiful and she knows it. Though Sophie has enjoyed all of her riches she is extremely poor in heart and soul. She has been starved of love and affection from her parents. Now her Vain rich girl world is taken from her by the Courts and her Father who has had enough of paying for her bad choices.

Sophie has no idea when she is sent to Uganda to work at an Orphanage for six months that she will find everything her heart and soul have longed for. It's rare that you get a chance to start over with a new life and move past your failures. But will  Sophie take the chance she has for this new life devoid of all the modern day conviences or just do her time and gain nothing.

I loved how this beautiful story of love and faith and hope was told as the characters are in one of the ugliest places in the real world.  It makes this work of fiction feel so real and believable. You will love Sophie when you get to know the real girl she hides inside. You will most definately love Ian/Dingane. I just spent an hour searching for a picture of a man to represent this character and couldn't find one to do him justice. I loved her friend Spencer and really hope he will get his own book. And I have to mention Pembrook the family lawyer. He is one of my fave characters too. This book is a must read  and share in my opinion.

Author Bio:

Fisher Amelie resides in the South with her kick ace husband slash soul mate. She earned her first 'mama' patch in 2009. She also lives with her Weim, 'Jonah', and her Beta, 'Whale'. All these living creatures keep the belly of her life full, sometimes to the point of gluttony, but she doesn't mind all that much because life isn't worth living if it isn't entertaining, right?
Fisher grew up writing. She secretly hid notebooks and notebooks of dribble in a large Tupperware storage container in her closet as a kid. She didn't put two and two together until after college where it suddenly dawned on her, "Hey, I like writing". She's a bit dense.
"No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are. Put down that Oreo, your butt can't take any more."
"You're rude."
"Yeah, yeah."
Anyway, she likes to write and has finally beaten her self-esteem into submission enough to allow herself to be scrutinized under the 'other readers' microscope. "No! No! Not a cover slip! Last time it gave me a ra...." (mumbling)

HALE MAREE the tour and GIVEAWAY

 Hootie Says:

I'm always nervous when an author that has been successful in one genre, steps into another one. The cover for this book was really catchy and I had high hopes it would be good. Expectations = Met! I knew this was gonna be epic simply by getting 3% into the book and coming across this gem...

"I swap you two turkey for my daughter's pussy. Yeah? You like? you want?"

How can you not love a book by just that statement alone? You can't that's how. I absolutely loved this book! It was funny, sexy and suspenseful.

When Hale's dad comes home drunk with Otto Maree one night she overhears a conversation that could change her life. Due to an accident the two men came to an agreement to wed Hale to Otto's son Oscar in order to give Hale a better life and keep her dad from spilling the beans about the accident. When Hale meets Oscar she is attracted to him but tries her best to find a way out of this situation, especially knowing Oscar has a girlfriend. They end up going away to his father's beach house to get to know each other.

"Eggs sound good? I can make them however you want, as long as you want them scrambled."

Oscar and Hale start to get closer as the story progresses and she finds herself getting more and more used to the idea of marrying him. When Oscar's friends show up for a surprise visit all hell seems to break loose. Something happens during the course of this visit that blows the story wide ass open! I was so caught off guard by the revelation I nearly choked on my tongue! The way the story was going it pointed the finger in another direction up until shit got real. Once that situation is over Hale and Oscar get the wedding plans started.

"I think you're perfect for me Hale, and I'm just waiting for you to realize that I'm perfect for you too."

Now let's just take a minute to discuss the hotness that is Oscar Maree! I usually don't get into the whole "Book Boyfriend" thing because I feel like an old weirdo, but you bitches better back off my man! I am totally claiming this sumbitch! Not only was Oscar hot, but he said some of the sweetest things I have read from a book character.

"I've never felt like this about anyone else. When we're apart, it's like I find these little holes in myself. Without you, I'm not even me."

Fucking PINCH ME! If a guy ever said anything like that to me I would put my junk on his face in a heartbeat! Oscar was sexy, fun, and charming. He knew how to give Hale the space she needed while showing her how he felt at the same time. I didn't expect this book to be as hot as it was but I was soon fanning myself, and changing my drawers lol! There was a particular scene in the book that involves a necktie that was hot as hell!

"Would you like to touch me?"

Um Yes! Yes I certainly would! Show me the sign up sheet and I'll touch you ALL. NIGHT. LONG.

Aside from the Boom Boom there were really funny parts, and the relationship between Hale and her best friend Sher was genius!

"So, has he squeezed the melon? Felt around the first floor? Nuggled with a hobbit?"

I mean come on this book has it all! It was witty with the banter between Hale and Sher, the steam between Oscar and Hale was beyond sexy and the overall plot was exciting and original. I loved the way it ended, it totally made me all swoony and giggly. About the only thing I wish would have been included was Oscar's POV, but when it comes down to it, the damn book was just wonderful! You owe it to yourself to read this book.

Mercy blurb:
I dive.

The water doesn't hesitate like I do.  It floods my ears and nose and mouth.

It numbs my fingertips.

Like it's helping me.

I flail up to the surface once, which wasn't the plan, but I need to see the boat's oars licking away, so I know this is for real.  I can't swim and there's nobody on the pier this late on a Tuesday night.  The boardwalk lights don't even reach this far.

Under the water, my lungs become hard, useless tanks when they run out of air.  My body spasms and fights death like a tiny fish on a heavy line.  I breath algae.  I gasp seaweed.  It wasn't supposed to be this hard.  I figured I'd open my mouth and breathe and just swim away from my life, but the water squeezes my guts.  It rolls over me like a machine.

Even so, my will to survive is the first thing to drown.  I know, because I hold it under myself.

NEW COVER and Review of Kiss of Fire by Rebecca Ethington

Blurb:

Joclyn Despain has a scar. In fact, it is almost like a brand on her skin. She doesn’t know why it appeared on her neck, but she doesn’t want anyone to see it, including her best friend Ryland, who knows everything else about her. The scar is the reason she hides herself behind baggy clothes, and won’t let the idea of kissing Ryland enter her mind, no matter how much she wants to.

The scar is the reason she is being hunted.

If only she knew that she was.

If only she had known that the cursed stone her estranged father sent for her 16th birthday would trigger a change in her. Now, she is being stalked by a tall blonde man, and is miraculously throwing her high school bully ten feet in the air.

Joclyn attempts to find some answers and the courage to follow her heart. When Ryland finds her scar; but he knows what it means, and who will kill her because of it.

Excerpt:

“I better get going to class,” Wyn said, without looking away from me.

I watched her as she turned to leave, ratty shoulder bag draped across her back. I wanted to run after her, explain why everything upset me, and explain about Ryland and my dad and everything. But, I couldn’t make myself move.

Wyn took a step to the side, leaving a break in the small group of students leaving the cafeteria. That small movement gave me a clear view of the door, and the blonde man standing next to it.

I looked away from Wyn’s retreating back to meet the stare of bright, blue eyes. My stomach clenched in fear as his gaze bored into mine in a glance so intense I felt the blood drain from my face. All the times I had seen him, I had felt uncomfortable, like I was being stalked, and, this time was no different. Except, now I knew without a doubt that he was following me. My frantic heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest.

The man leaned forward, his back arching him forward. His eyes narrowed as he continued to stare into me. A shiver wound its way up my spine causing me to gasp for a breath I hadn’t remembered holding. At my sudden intake, a coy little half smile spread across his face as if he enjoyed it. My stomach clenched in even further terror, my mind casting away any thoughts of what that smile could mean. I didn’t want to know. He continued to stare into me before releasing me as he turned to walk out of the cafeteria.

I didn’t dare move, even though class had already started and I was left alone with the janitorial staff and the smell of ammonia. I continued to stare at the vacant door as the edge of fear ebbed away and my spine started to relax. I shouldn’t be so worked-up over one random man staring at me, even though he had been following me. But it could be anything right?

At the age of five Joclyn was bitten by something that sent her into a coma after experiencing tremendous pain. After almost six months she woke with only one side effect of the bite. A small raised red scar like a brand with a black mark in the middle. Since then she has wanted to do nothing but to disappear. Instead she did the best she could to hide the mark behind her ear on her neck by wearing baggy clothes and long hair hanging over it. She blames the mark for her fathers disappearance. Her parents argued about the significance of the mark. Then one night the arguements stopped and Joclyn woke to find her father had left.

Now she's almost sixteen and her mom works for the scrooge from hell.  Fortunately the Devil's son is little piece of heaven named Ryland. He's her best friend but in 3 months he's supposed to leave for college. With time running out their hearts start feel  the pressure. But their love and friendship is forbidden by Ryland's father. Ryland realizes what he wants most is to love Jos. Then he discovers her mark. Joclyn biggest fears become a reality as she loses Ryland because of the mark. She feels like everything leaves her because it. But the mystery of the Mark is now revealed. Her absent father returns, friends from school aren't who they appear to be, and Ryland's father is a bigger threat than she ever imagined. She's a Chosen Child, marked by the Kiss of a creature that resembles a small, winged dinasaur with a human like face.  My heart breaks reading about the torture Ryland has had to endure at the hands of his father.

I loved this story. I wanted a different ending which means my heart is totally invested in the characters and reading the next book. You will love the mix of magic and romance and action. Your heart will swell and break as you read Kiss of Fire.

                                                                          LOVED IT!!!- GLOBUG

Power Will Flourish

Lives Will be Lost

Nothing, Will be Forgotten

Chase Williams is a demon hunter in the Circle, or at least he was supposed to be. On his fifteenth birthday, Chase stepped up to the altar to claim his elemental power, but it never came. Elemental magic is passed down to a hunter through the bloodline, but on Chase's birthday, the bloodline stopped.

Exiled without the Circle's protection, Chase has spent two years trying to survive a world riddled with half-demons and magic. When he has a run in with a frightened and seemingly innocent demon, he learns the Circle's agenda has changed: the Circle plans to unlock a portal and unleash pure-blood demons into the world.

Vowing to stop them, and knowing he can't do it alone, Chase forms a reluctant alliance with Rayna - a sexy witch with an attitude and a secret. In their attempt to stop them however, Chase and Rayna find themselves in the middle of the Circle's plan, leaving one of them to decide what their friendship is worth, and the other's life depending on it.

Excerpt of Exiled:

I’d had several jobs in the past year. This one I’d managed to keep for a few months. Most of my employers frowned on me coming to work with cuts and bruises all the time. It made for “poor presentation,” they’d say. I was thankful it hadn’t interfered with this job, yet.

I finished up my shift and had started my walk home from the burger joint when I felt it. A hunter doesn’t mistake the feeling that demons are around. It moves down your spine and chills your bones. Feeling it proved I was indeed a hunter, even without an element.

The August air was warm for the late hour, and a thick layer of sweat made my white shirt cling to me. I stopped and unzipped my duffle bag, locating the silver dagger inside. Silver was great no matter what you were fighting; it could do serious damage to anything of the Underworld.

The tingle shot down my spine again. If I focused, I could feel each hair on my neck rise. I saw a blur of movement across the street and watched it disappear into a shadowy alley. I moved across the street in a low crouch, resting my weight on the balls of my feet. I slowed my breathing and pulled the dagger from my bag before I slipped around the corner.

My senses were alive and strained to see movement, or hear the sound of feet shuffling against loose rocks. As a hunter, I could see well in the dark, though the only light came from a single flickering street lamp.

I was almost to the end of the alley when it hit. I couldn’t tell what “it” was, but it struck my back and launched me forward. My feet tumbled over my head and my back smashed hard into the concrete wall at the end of the alley. Hands grabbed me and lifted me to my feet, dragging me a few steps before throwing me back the other way. I flew through the air, hit the ground and rolled out into the street.

I used my momentum and came up on one knee to recover. My back burned where pavement had grated the skin off, but I pushed the pain aside as the figure stalked towards me.

“Your death will bring me great glory, hunter. Killing the son of Riley Williams will make me a legend among the Underworld,” the low voice gloated.

“That’s really great, good luck with that,” I said.

He smiled and the fangs that slid down from his gums were long and sharp. His pale skin started to thin as the vampire changed into his demon form.

Milky skin faded into transparent flesh, revealing the moving muscles beneath. Veins ran black through the vampire’s face and limbs, pushing against the thinning clear skin. Strange muscles in his hands pushed bony talons out over his finger nails, and the whites of his eyes disappeared, filling with an inky blackness. The dark orbs stared at me as his fanged mouth curled into a smile, and in a blur he sprang forward, talons swinging.

I ducked as they sliced through the air over my head. I brought the knife up into his stomach and twisted the blade before I pulled it out. Blood spilled onto the ground, but I knew the wound wasn’t enough to kill him. Cut off his head or pierce his black heart – those were my options. I could light him on fire, but I was fresh out of matches.

I brought my foot up and kicked the vampire back to give myself some room. I steadied myself, waiting for him to charge, but his body jerked and the point of a silver blade appeared in his chest before he could move.

The vamp’s body went limp and collapsed, then exploded in a flash of orange light. It burned away into a cloud of ash and littered the pavement, revealing the girl – of all things – who had beaten me to the kill.

Raven hair spilled over her pale shoulders with hints of red highlighting the occasional strand. A tight leather top revealed a sliver of toned stomach and a tease of cleavage. Black pants hugged her hips and long slender legs and met knee-high boots. Her skin glistened in the light, but the most noticeable of her features were her eyes.

Bright green orbs sparkled with an odd glow: demon’s eyes. They had the slit pupils of a cat that I’d never seen on anything other than a house pet or a shifter in animal form. I slipped back into fight mode. I’d never watched one demon kill another, but I suppose for the fame of killing me, why not?

I lunged and threw a punch at her face, but she dodged it with ease.

“You almost messed up my kill,” she snarled, and I had barely enough time to dodge her powerful kick.

“Your kill? You stole it from me!” I swung my fist and hit her stomach. She bent over, winded, before she stepped back and caught her breath, regaining her stance and composure.

“Stole it? Please, I’d been tracking him for blocks.” She spun and caught my chin with the heel of her boot, snapping my head to the side. I rubbed my jaw where she’d hit me and smiled.

“Well then, I guess it’s a good thing I was here to slow him down. Who knows if you would have been able to catch him?”

She moved in for another kick but I was ready. I grabbed her foot and pushed her back. She fell to the ground but quickly came to her feet. “I would have gotten him just fine on my own. Hunting is an art. It would’ve gone on as long as I deemed necessary.”

“Call it hunting if you want, but a filthy demon killing her own kind is still just that: a filthy demon.” I could tell I’d offended her even before she hit me.

My eyes watered when her fist smashed into my nose and her foot connected with my stomach in quick succession. I jerked back to avoid the knee that flew towards my face and pushed it to the side, but she was already moving towards me. Her hands hit my chest hard and I soared through the air for a long moment before I hit the ground. I felt a sharp pain shoot up through my spine and I could hear her laughter as I struggled to my feet.

“I have to admit I expected more from you, Chase, being the infamous son of Riley Williams and all.”

I gripped my dagger until my knuckles turned white and spoke through gritted teeth. “I’ll try not to disappoint.”

My fist hit her jawbone and made a loud crack. I came back with my other hand and wrapped it around her throat. I stepped into the movement and threw her forward in a burst of hunter’s strength. She slammed into the ground but recovered faster than I anticipated. Before I could brace myself she was on top of me.

I pulled her body down and we rolled over each other against the cold concrete until I was on top. I kept a handful of her hair wound tight in my fist and pushed my blade against her throat. “More what you expected?”

“Not really.” She smirked.

I felt the point of a knife pushing against my stomach. Before I could react, a commanding male voice came from behind us.

“Enough!” it boomed.

I didn’t take the knife or my eyes off the demon beneath me.

“But we were just starting to have fun,” she complained. The smile on her face was anything but threatening. If this was her idea of fun, I didn’t want to know what she considered boring.

“Rayna, enough,” the man repeated.

She sighed, sticking out her bottom lip in a pout before the knife left my skin. “Truce?” she said with an innocent face.

“Not a chance,” I replied, pushing the knife harder against her throat.

I was pulled away from Rayna and pressed against a wall, thick hands around my throat. I raised my blade but my opponent blocked and twisted my arm at an awkward angle. The man ripped the blade from my hand and I squirmed.

“Calm down, Chase. We are not here to hurt you,” the voice said. A complete shadow hung around the figure, moving as he moved.

“So she attacked me for fun?” I snapped.

“If we wanted you dead, you would be,” he said, releasing his grip, and I fell to the sidewalk. He stepped back slowly and the shadow peeled itself from his body. As it faded, it revealed a large man whose magic I’d never sensed before.

“If you don’t want to kill me, what do you want?” I asked.

The man reached forward, a large dark arm holding out my dagger. I wrapped my hand around it in confusion. The contrast of our skin was drastic; my pale flesh glowed against his midnight color and the size of his hand alone made me feel small.

“What Rayna told you was true. We were tracking the vampire, not you. Although I’m happy to finally meet you, I’d imagined this moment under different circumstances,” he said.

“There are ways to meet people besides attacking them.”

“I agree. You must forgive us; Rayna is quick to lash out when insulted.” My eyes met his and I couldn’t read his expression. I knew I hadn’t been polite, but I wasn’t about to apologize to a demon. “You know, your father would not have hesitated to kill her, no matter his position.”

“Congratulations, you’ve discovered I’m not my father. What the hell would you know about him anyways?”

He turned his head to the side and as the light hit his neck it revealed a tattoo. It was the one every hunter received after their ceremony. The one I never got.

The tattoo made me realize why he could bend the shadows; he was an air elemental and a powerful one at that. I had heard stories of hunters being able to work with shadows, but I’d never seen it done firsthand.

I looked him over, not sure what to think of a hunter working with a demon. He was taller than me by an inch, around six-foot three. His head was smooth shaven, though there was a small patch of hair under his lower lip. His skin seemed like a smooth dark chocolate. His body was large and square, broad shoulders making him a massive column of strength and power. He filled out a sharp black suit jacket and wore black loafers, leaving the only color on him a flash of bright blue dress shirt.

“You’re a hunter.”

“Once upon a time, yes I was.”

He broke eye contact and cleared his throat, extending his massive hand towards me. “Look at my manners. Let me introduce myself. I am Marcus Starkraven.”

My eyebrows shot up; I knew that name! “You’re supposed to be dead.”

“Is that what you heard?”

“You used to hunt with my father.”

He nodded slightly, but otherwise ignored the comment. “You already met Rayna,” he said, taking his unshaken hand back.

I looked at Rayna and got caught in the depths of her green, slit eyes.

“What are you doing with a demon?” I said, spitting out the last word like a curse.

“How’s your nose?” Rayna asked.

I touched it and looked at the blood on my fingers. “Lucky shot.”

She chuckled and stepped towards me. “Care to go again?” Marcus put an arm in front of her.

“Not what we’re doing right now,” he said.

“You didn’t answer my question.”

“She is my student. And my friend.”

I couldn’t respond. I didn’t believe it. A hunter being friends with a demon was unfathomable.

“I would have thought, being out in the real world, you’d have come to understand, Chase. Some Underworlders don’t fit the Circle’s black and white image of good and evil,” he said.

“The only Underworlders I’ve come across have tried to kill me.”

“Your name is feared by many in the Underworld. Your father has created quite the reputation for himself, so they fear you as well,” Marcus said.

I smirked. “As they should.”

He shook his head. “That wasn’t a compliment.

Globug's Review:

I've never been a fan of History or Social Studies. If all of my history books had been written by this author I'm sure it would have been my favorite subject This story felt a lot like Pocahontas to me, but better. And one of the coolest things about this book is that the author included lyrics to songs before some of the chapters that seem to be inspired by the story. It's a great way to share the play list for the book.
This story is about a Native American girl named Wildflower and her forbidden love for an Englishman named Joshua Bangs in the 17th century. Wildflower is the daughter of her tribes Shaman and she has been promised to one of the tribes Warriors. But the story is also about those same souls in the current day. We get to experience the feelings of the characters from both time periods as their love story is relived again and again. Who will she choose in her current life and who will she choose in the future. Will she choose forbidden love or will the warrior that loves her win the battle over her heart. I have to say I couldn't guess where this story was going go. I loved both lead guys. The story also includes a dream world where the characters can meet in secret. I've always been fascinated with tattoos and the mystical nature of the lead characters tattoos was perfect. It was a great read. I definitely look forward to the next book in the series.
