Blog Tour: Review/Playlist and Giveaway Just Breathe by Kendall Grey

Synopsis:

He made a deal with the devil to save the woman he loves…

After tragedy rocks the foundation of their relationship, Australian Sentinel Gavin Cassidy and whale biologist Zoe Morgan call it quits. Gavin can’t forgive himself for shattering her trust, and being with the sexy rock star is killing Zoe. Literally.

But love—and duty—are powerful motivators, and alliances are forged in the most unlikely places. With the key to salvation locked inside the mind of an unconscious child, Gavin must find another way to snuff out the Fyre Elementals before millions of humans die, or make good on his deal with the devil and lose the one he loves. Again.

*This book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Not suitable for readers under the age of 18.

**The author will donate all profits from the sale of the JUST BREATHE trilogy to programs that educate people about whales and the challenges they face.

Jeez. I think my emotions have run an obstacle course, been chased by wild dogs and then rocked to sleep all in one day! When I started this book I knew going in that shit would be tough due to the way EXHALE ended but I had no clue what I was in for! I started reading it a little over a week ago and got to 26% and started freaking out emotionally and quit reading. I was so distraught I had to read another review just to brace myself for what was to come. That didn't even help because what I wanted to know most still didn't prepare me for the battle ahead. After grabbing my Vagisil and putting on my big girl panties I finally picked it back up to finish and I am so glad I did! Just Breathe picks up where Exhale left off with Zoe Morgan and Gavin Cassidy trying to pick up the broken pieces of what Scarlet did to them. Exhale damn near ruined me emotionally and mentally. I will forever refer to it as the BEST, WORST book I have ever read. I got emotionally involved into the story of Gavin and Zoe so when Scarlet fucked everything up at the end I was broken. But for every broken piece of my soul Exhale left behind, Just Breathe pieced me back together, now I feel like Humpty Fucking Dumpty!

The world is going to shit and both Gavin and Zoe have to put aside their relationship woes to try and save both the Dreaming and Realis from the Fyres' ultimate take over. The Fyres have control of the door to the Dreaming and therefore wreak havoc on the Wyldlings who inhabit the Dreaming while they sleep. They must be stopped before the Equinox when they will Tythe their elemental gifts to their god Incendius. The entire fate of Realis and The Dreaming rests on the awakening of a small girl, Whetu, who is foretold to be the key to finding the door, but with her in a coma can't nobody do shit. Gavin takes it upon himself to do WHATEVER it takes to stop Scarlet from taking over and makes a huge fucking mistake that made me to want to vomit and eat it again!

This mistake causes him physical and emotional pain and it broke my heart to see him so distraught about his decision that he knows could ultimately destroy his love with Zoe. Meanwhile Zoe is trying to push all of her time and energy into helping the whales and amassing an army of Waeter elementals to fight the Fyres. Her father Jack leads a rogue group of sentinels (Byrn, Vexx, Jet, and Xanthos) on a mission to help save the Wyldlings while trying to wake Whetu up from her coma. Sinnder is doing his own thing trying desperately to take down Scarlet for what she did to his family in the past and becomes an unlikely ally. Scarlet is still the same stupid cunt she always has been, causing problems and shit. The story builds to a dramatic conclusion with several surprises that are sure to please and excite you!

I can't even explain how I felt when I finished this book because every emotion known to man was bouncing around inside my heart and head. Kendall really steps up the drama, the anguish and the suspense in this last book. I really started to hate Kendall Grey during the first half of this book. I swear if we were still in high school I would hold her head to my butt and fart! But despite the heartache and pain you go through with the main characters you also see just what a literary genius Kendall is. This woman knows what the reader wants but instead of just giving you what you crave right away she makes you fight for it. You have to crawl through broken glass, and fire walk through the flames with gasoline panties to get to the marshmallow goodness on the other side! I wouldn't have it any other way despite all my protests. If I thought I was in love with Gavin and Zoe in the first 2 books, I had no idea how much farther there was to fall. They were torn to shreds by opposing forces and still managed to come out on top. What I absolutely love about Kendall's writing is how well she balances out all of the characters. With so many plots, and twists and characters she maintains the fluidity of the story flawlessly. We get to see through several different characters eyes during Just Breathe especially everyone's favorite Fyre Sinnder!

I have been in love with Sinnder ever since he cornered Zoe in that damn bar! I can't explain why but since then I have been silently hoping Zoe and Sinnder would get to fuck each other! Especially after Scarlet got her claws in Gavin, I was seriously rooting for a Revenge fuck in Just Breathe until I remembered Jet and then i was like...

One of the best parts of the book was watching Zoe and Gavin grow stronger as they worked together to save the world and their relationship. Seeing how things worked out was worth every heart shredding minute! There is a very intense moment towards the conclusion of the story that overwhelmed me so much that I had to stop reading due to the tears in my eyes. That's when I took to Facebook and started singing Kendall's praises for such a beautiful, touching moment. As for the second best part without spoiling to much I will simply say...JUSTICE! Beautiful, orgasmic JUSTICE! Kendall makes you wait for it but when she delivers, it is swift and Delicious! It's like waking up on Christmas morning to find an Easter Basket full of dildos! I bugged the shit out of Kendall while she was writing and begged her to make it a giant spectacle with fireworks and hot dogs and Lynard Skynard playing in the background but she handled the situation as only Kendall Grey could. I have to give props to KG because the bitch knows how to write a villain! A character so fucked up with absolutely NO redeeming qualities what-so-fucking-ever! Thankfully she doesn't make you want to like Scarlet! There is nothing but straight up hatred for this character throughout it all! After reading the very last sentence I no longer hold contempt for Kendall. In fact if I was into Lesbian sex I would be motor boating her bunghole. Shit who am I kidding? I haven't gotten laid since Obama took office the first time, beggars can't be choosers right? This was by far the best book in the series in my very humble opinion and I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us. I honestly hope we get a book all about the Tongans because I have a serious crush on these stoic bastards. I came across this picture the other day and had to share what my imagination conjured while reading about them!

Can you imagine three of these wild sexy beasts? We don't really get to know the Tongans but they have captivated my imagination and that just goes to show how amazing Kendall is. Her vivid world of Wyldlings and Elementals comes to life and makes you forget about reality and I can only hope that she continues writing more crazy ass characters and fucked up situations that both break you down and build you up. I would like to extend a personal thank you to Kendall for putting up with my dramatic tweets and Facebook posts while suffering through the beginning. You were absolutely right and from now on I will trust you when you promise it's worth it. You are one crazy ass woman and I am so glad I get to be a part of your world. (OK now I sound like the damn little mermaid) To the readers out there I implore you to dive head first into this crazy fantastic series full of strange characters, hot sex and delish bad boys! HOLLA!

Kendall Grey, word wrangler, whale warrior, wicked wench, and lover of tongue-tripping alliteration, was born without an off-switch between her brain and mouth. She's been called the "Flux Capacitor of Twitter" (@kendallgrey1) and "A little package of love all wrapped up in F-word paper," but she's really just a maniacal writer relaying eyewitness accounts of the rave inside her head. She writes urban fantasy with strong romantic elements and also dabbles in erotica and horror on occasion.

Kendall lives off a dirt road near Atlanta, Georgia, but don't hold that against her.

Blog Tour and Review: A Beautiful Lie by T.E. Sivec

Synopsis:

He saw her first, but his friend made the move.

She settled for the safer choice, but her heart knew the truth.

They love, they crave, they lie.

Garrett McCarthy, Annabelle Parker, and Milo Roberts were as close as friends could get. They shared in each other's joy during graduations, promotions, and engagements. They consoled one another through heartache and loss.

When one of the friend's life is tragically cut short, it's up to the two left behind to pick up the pieces and find out the truth - no matter the cost. As they slowly start to uncover the nature of his deception, and the very powerful people behind it, they begin to question everyone and everything, even themselves.

Everyone has secrets - some do it for love while others do it for power. Those secrets can change perceptions, alter reality and sometimes destroy lives.

What do you do when you find out your whole life has been a lie?

What a way to start off the new year! I had a feeling while reading Seduction and Snacks that the best from Tara Sivec is yet to come and boy was I right!!! A Beautiful Lie is written under her new pen name T.E. Sivec my guess is so she can try to establish herself outside of the other series. She didn't have to try hard because this book was 18 Mother Fucking kinds of amazing! This is a huge step outside of the Chocolate lovers series and by far my favorite. I never thought another book could take the place of "Snacks" in my heart but ABL kicked the door in, beat the shit out of "Snacks" and assumed the throne!

A Beautiful Lie to me was everything I enjoy in a book. Suspense, Drama, Some hot sex and a kick ass female lead who takes no shit! I used to love to read Nancy Drew books when I was a kid and this is like the ADULT equivalent to that! I'm sure if Nancy would have had the heat this book did I wouldn't have held onto my V-CARD as long as I did! SO what's it about? OK you got this girl Annabelle Parker, or Parker as her friends call her. She has been friends with two guys, Garrett McCarthy and Milo Roberts for years. The girl has been in love with Garrett since the first time she saw him but she chooses the chicken shit way out and starts dating Milo. See Milo and Garrett are both Navy SEALS who do undercover ninja shit for the Government, and when Milo gets sent to the Dominican and mysteriously dies while there, Parker and Garrett set out to uncover the mystery. Did anybody ever play the game CLUE? That's how A Beautiful Lie is, there are so many twists and turns and before you know it you find yourself trying to figure out who killed Kenny!

I enjoy a book with a heavy, suspenseful plot that keeps you guessing constantly. This book was like the TV show Alias but without Jennifer Garner's annoying baby voice. I don't know how Ben Affleck's balls don't shrivel when she talks. Anyway, What I loved about this book is how many times it made me say "WHAT THE FUCK!?" Having read so many books I sometimes think an author can't possibly keep me on the hook and keep me guessing but I found myself guessing what would happen and then being totally surprised and pleased to find out I was wrong. There are surprises in every chapter, drama in every sentence and let's take a few minutes to appreciate the HOTNESS you will experience.

"Slow burn" as defined by Urban Dictionary is: an attraction to someone that develops over time. This was the hotness factor! Watching Garrett and Parker fight their attraction tooth and nail is both frustrating and fulfilling. This is a couple you bond with throughout their journey and root for them Hardcore! I was so nervous during some scenes I honestly sat on the toilet most of the time reading this for fear I would shit myself! It's just a damn good book that grabs your attention and holds it until the last page. This book dives pretty deep into character development and you get to know Parker and Garrett intimately and get inside their heads to see why they have done and do the things they do. You can really see that Sivec took time to develop this story, and paid attention to detail and plot twists to make sure you get the best experience possible while reading A Beautiful Lie. The supporting characters even get a little face time and one in particular Brady Marshall had me like this...

I can't explain why I loved Brady so much. Maybe it was his strength and determination, or maybe it's his blond hair, or it could be that he gets to kick some serious ass and helps bring everything to a head. I can't wait to see him in the future because I am Unconditionally and Irresponsibly in love with him. Or whatever that TWAT Bella said about Edward. I am so proud of Tara with this book. She stepped out of the box of funny romance and bends you over the kitchen sink with this book and will have you falling in love with the main characters and some of the supporting ones if you are like me. I can't praise it enough and I really hope you don't just take my word for it because this rambling bullshit doesn't do it a tenth of the justice it deserves. I loved it so much I want to drive it up to Massachusetts and make an honest Book of it! I promise you will enjoy reading this story so check it out!

"I'll show you good at my job, asshole, when I take you out in the woods and leave you for dead." Loc. 2749

“Do you think he could make you moan when he rubbed up against you?” Loc. 4405

“Shame on you, ninja. You’d be at least a fifty-dollar hooker” Loc. 2348

Review and GIVEAWAY: Up To Me by M. Leighton

Book Synopsis:

Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.

Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.

Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.

Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart.

In Up To Me the story picks up where Down to You ended. Olivia and Cash are at work in the club. Taryn (skank trouble maker) does a fine job of destroying any confidence Olivia had in her relationship with Cash.

"Any girl who goes into a relationship with Cash thinking she'll change him or that she'll be the only one is dumber than a box of her long blond hair."

And if that wasn't enough, things go horribly wrong for Olivia's cousin Marissa thanks to the criminals associated with Cash's father. Olivia fights with herself trying to decide if she should trust her heart, her body's desire for Cash or her head that thinks she should run  from this bad boy and his dangerous family. Thank heaven she listens to the body. Ladies you better put on your poise pads when Cash and Olivia get to the hotel. When Cash says "RIDE ME", you will be sitting in a puddle.

Cash decides to call in some reinforcements in his Part-Time Manager Gavin.

I love Gavin. We get to know him more in Up To Me. He's flirty and gorgeous and says things like "Nah, I stow my only super power in my pants" and "Damn, that woman is one mighty bitch. I think my balls just now dropped back down". Did I mention he has an accent?

One of my fave characters, Ginger, is back too. She's happy for Olivia and encourages her relationship with Cash. Here's another fave quote from her.

"I'm just happy to see your hen house being taken care of by such a fabulous cock".

OK, now remember Duffy from the Epilogue of Down To You? Well his sorry ass is back. He's responsible for more than we thought in the whole scandal with Cash's family.

In the end Cash and Olivia are in love and committed but still in deep shit trouble because of Cash's father. I also totally didn't tell you about a MAJOR twist in the story. You'll be like.....

We have a kick ass Giveaway at the end of this post but first I am gonna put in my opinion on this book. First of all it was absolutely fantastic! The suspense was well done and halfway through the book you get a wet fish slap you won't see coming that made me suck a whole ice cube down my throat and choke damn near to death!

This is the kind of book that makes me remember why I used to love to read as a kid. I loved Nancy Drew books where the suspense was palpable! I felt my heartbeat in my throat as well as in my pants while reading Up To Me! Which brings me to the second point in my 2 Cents! The HEAT! HOLY SHIT! Pulse pounding, Pantie Soaking sexual chemistry has never jumped off the page better. I don't know anyone in my natural damn life with stamina as good as Cash's. I had to ask Mrs. Leighton if that shit was even possible!!!?? And If so find me a damn man with that kind of stamina! I don't care if he is ugly as fuck with a face like Mama's baked ziti! With all good stories you gotta have some juicy dramz and you definitely get a fistful of DRAMA to the face with Cash and Olivia that's for damn sure. This book was even better than Down To You and with the juicy epilogue you know that only more exciting shit is on the way! I want to give a big THANK YOU to M. Leighton for the ARC of this book I have to have on my bookshelf soon!

About The Author:

I was born and raised in the United States, and I’ve lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it's there. I believe that I'm shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can't be sure because I haven't met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn’t. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer's too hot, winter's too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all
