Book Synopsis:
Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.
Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.
Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.
Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart.
In Up To Me the story picks up where Down to You ended. Olivia and Cash are at work in the club. Taryn (skank trouble maker) does a fine job of destroying any confidence Olivia had in her relationship with Cash.
"Any girl who goes into a relationship with Cash thinking she'll change him or that she'll be the only one is dumber than a box of her long blond hair."
And if that wasn't enough, things go horribly wrong for Olivia's cousin Marissa thanks to the criminals associated with Cash's father. Olivia fights with herself trying to decide if she should trust her heart, her body's desire for Cash or her head that thinks she should run from this bad boy and his dangerous family. Thank heaven she listens to the body. Ladies you better put on your poise pads when Cash and Olivia get to the hotel. When Cash says "RIDE ME", you will be sitting in a puddle.
Cash decides to call in some reinforcements in his Part-Time Manager Gavin.
I love Gavin. We get to know him more in Up To Me. He's flirty and gorgeous and says things like "Nah, I stow my only super power in my pants" and "Damn, that woman is one mighty bitch. I think my balls just now dropped back down". Did I mention he has an accent?
One of my fave characters, Ginger, is back too. She's happy for Olivia and encourages her relationship with Cash. Here's another fave quote from her.
"I'm just happy to see your hen house being taken care of by such a fabulous cock".
OK, now remember Duffy from the Epilogue of Down To You? Well his sorry ass is back. He's responsible for more than we thought in the whole scandal with Cash's family.
In the end Cash and Olivia are in love and committed but still in deep shit trouble because of Cash's father. I also totally didn't tell you about a MAJOR twist in the story. You'll be like.....
We have a kick ass Giveaway at the end of this post but first I am gonna put in my opinion on this book. First of all it was absolutely fantastic! The suspense was well done and halfway through the book you get a wet fish slap you won't see coming that made me suck a whole ice cube down my throat and choke damn near to death!
This is the kind of book that makes me remember why I used to love to read as a kid. I loved Nancy Drew books where the suspense was palpable! I felt my heartbeat in my throat as well as in my pants while reading Up To Me! Which brings me to the second point in my 2 Cents! The HEAT! HOLY SHIT! Pulse pounding, Pantie Soaking sexual chemistry has never jumped off the page better. I don't know anyone in my natural damn life with stamina as good as Cash's. I had to ask Mrs. Leighton if that shit was even possible!!!?? And If so find me a damn man with that kind of stamina! I don't care if he is ugly as fuck with a face like Mama's baked ziti! With all good stories you gotta have some juicy dramz and you definitely get a fistful of DRAMA to the face with Cash and Olivia that's for damn sure. This book was even better than Down To You and with the juicy epilogue you know that only more exciting shit is on the way! I want to give a big THANK YOU to M. Leighton for the ARC of this book I have to have on my bookshelf soon!
About The Author:
I was born and raised in the United States, and I’ve lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it's there. I believe that I'm shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can't be sure because I haven't met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn’t. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer's too hot, winter's too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all

ReplyDeleteThanks for a Great Contest..
There are many scenes in Down to You I <3... one would be in his office on the desk at the bar. I have not read Up to Me yet so I Look forward to it!!!! Thanx for the giveaway :D
ReplyDeleteSo far, hottest scene is limo ride after concert in Reflected in You by Sylvia Day... But haven't read Up to Me yet so this could change!

ReplyDeleteBased upon your statement about poise pads (which had me cracking up) I think the hottest scene ever will be when I finally read this book! Until then, though, one of my favorite hottest scenes is in Rock Me (by Cherrie Lynn), when Brian and Candace are waiting in traffic to leave the Korn concert and he threatens to pull over...
ReplyDeleteThat is a tough question. Even though it's not super smutting, probably the best non-kiss in the world from Colleen Hoover's Hopeless. So much sexual tension!!
ReplyDeleteMegan from readingbookslikeaboss.blogspot.com
Hmm there's a scene (several, actually) in Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick where Luke handcuffs Ava to the bed. Whew.
ReplyDeleteThe hotel scene is pretty damn hot! Absolutely loved it...and Cash!!! Mmmm...ride me....yes sir!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many hot scenes in Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning that I can't even pick one...too HOT!
ReplyDeleteHmm the hottest scene has to be in Reflected In You in the limo scene after they go to the concert... HOT.
ReplyDeleteLove the review and OMG do I love Cash. This book was soooo good.
ReplyDeleteIn the Crossfire series (can't remember now if it was Bared to You or Reflected in You) when Gideon comes to find Eva at his house and then they are interrupted (but don't stop) when his brother walks in.
ReplyDeleteGod, I don't even know how to answer what the hottest scene in a book has been for me!
ReplyDeleteHottest Scene for me is Dex and Perry in the Kitchen in the Lying Season by Karina Halle. So much sexual tension and angst build up and finally giving in. Oy. I felt like I was there.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the hottest scene but The Mitchell Family series by Jennifer Foor has A LOT of HOT scenes!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to steal a few from other people.. I agree with Sarah Handrich.... I'm loving The Mitchell Family Series. Also, I agree with another person who said the best first kiss without actually kissing in Hopeless. I mean seriously. Who wouldn't want THAT to be their first kiss? That was HOT!
ReplyDeleteI think it was the first kiss (non-kiss) scene in Hopeless by Colleen Hoover.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'd have to say the library scene in Bared to You by Sylvia Day. Not even the entire scene, but one particular part. It just. Wow. Definitely the hottest scene EVER. Nothing has compared since.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance! (:
That's a hard one (pun intended). One of my favorite scenes is the bathroom scene in Effortless.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. Maybe the hotel scene in The Edge of Never:) One of them. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom scene in Down To You is holy hotness!! ;)

Uhm ... generally, in all books, I think the hottest scene is that moment in which the heroine finally gives in and accepts the attraction between her and the male protagonist. The first time is always the hottest because of the sexual tension that had accumulated beforehand ;P
ReplyDeleteI'll pick an M. Leighton one just to narrow down my options, when he tskes her up to the VIP section...nough said!
ReplyDeleteMaryann Buchanan follow through GFC!
I loved the bathroom and then the shower scene! HOT!
ReplyDeleteI loved the bathroom and then the shower scene! HOT!
ReplyDeleteThe Scene in Turn Towards the Sun where her friend walks in on them in the kitchen while they are supposed to be cooking! Always more of an adrenaline rush when u know someone could walk in or see
