Series: Wild Novella #1
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Evolved Publishing
Author: Amelia James
Format: ARC Submitted for review by Author
Rating: 5 Stars

Synopsis:
“Let me get this straight.” Jake looked Lucien in the eye. “If you lose this hand, I take your girlfriend home.”

Never anger a gypsy with the powers of hell at his fingertips. But that’s exactly what Jake Marshall does when he wins Lucien’s girlfriend in a drunken poker game.

The Great War is over and Jake wanders through Eastern Europe looking for adventure, romance or maybe just a good stiff drink. When he meets beautiful, exotic Miranda, he knows she can give him everything he wants... for tonight at least. Jake can’t decide if her magic touch scares him or turns him on. Can he trust her?

Miranda is looking for a way out. She's suffered Lucien’s abuses far too long, and Jake offers the escape she craves. The cocky American is bold, brash and carries too many guns, but she likes that in a man.

They're enjoying the magic between them when Lucien unleashes an ancient curse, forcing Jake and Miranda to flee into the dark black forest while the minions of hell pursue them through endless hours of midnight. And the constant erotic distractions between the two only make matters worse. Jake can only fight for so long, and Miranda’s powers are pushed to the limit. She can break the curse... if they survive One Wild Night.

If anyone can pack heat, adventure and romance into a short story it's Amelie James. This one kicks off with Jake Marshall at a card game in a gypsy camp and he's winning. Playing against a scary dude named Lucien he really pisses him off when he beats him at another hand. The whole time Jake has been eye fucking Miranda, a beautiful gypsy woman who can't keep her eyes off him either. With nothing left to bet Lucien uses Miranda and when Jake wins the hand, and Miranda's company Lucien gets pissed and curses them. Jake and Miranda are enjoying their exploration of each other when strange creatures start to attack them from every angle! Every time they get rid of one they barely have any time to recover before another threat arises. Miranda tries to help Jake using the magic she has learned from watching Lucien but she isn't as good which causes some funny moments between them. I'm not normally a fan of Historical Romance but you can hardly tell with this book because there is so much going on in this little novella that your focus is always moving with the plot. Jake was a really witty, funny and charming character. He was so damn sexy and rugged. James knows how to write a male character that melts your panties and makes you swoon. Jake fought tooth and nail to protect Miranda throughout the fight with the creatures Lucien unleashed on them. Seeing Miranda and Jake try to work together almost had a Lucy and Desi feel to it in the way they handled the situations. When the smoke clears and the book comes to a close we are left salivating for more adventures from these two characters. This was a fun short read that made me laugh in spots and swoon in others.

"I'm stuck in the woods in the middle of God knows where, with a gypsy witch who doesn't know what the hell she's doing." ARC Loc. 347

"Oh Jake, do you want me as much as I want you? Yeah I do baby, but that's the knife handle." ARC Loc.433

"He moaned and closed his eyes, grabbing her hips in an effort to control her movements. You're gonna hurt us both if you don't let me hold the reigns" ARC Loc. 561

Release Day Blitz: Review and Giveaway How To Misbehave by Ruthie Knox

Synopsis:

What woman can resist a hot man in a hard hat? Beloved author Ruthie Knox kicks off her new Camelot series with this deliciously sexy original novella, in which a good girl learns how to misbehave . . . with all her heart.

As program director for the Camelot Community Center, Amber Clark knows how to keep her cool. That is, until a sudden tornado warning forces her to take shelter in a darkened basement with a hunk of man whose sex appeal green lights her every fantasy. With a voice that would melt chocolate, he asks her if she is okay. Now she’s hot all over and wondering: How does a girl make a move?

Building contractor Tony Mazzara was just looking to escape nature’s fury. Instead, he finds himself all tangled up with lovely Amber. Sweet and sexy, she’s ready to unleash her wild side. Their mutual desire reaches a fever pitch and creates a storm of its own—unexpected, powerful, and unforgettable. But is it bigger than Tony can handle? Can he let go of painful memories and let the force of this remarkable woman show him a future he never dreamed existed

Hot, Sweet and to the point! This book was a pretty damn good novella that introduced two characters that we will see more of in the coming Camelot Series. Amber Clark is your typical shy, mousy woman who has lived a pretty sheltered life but when she meets Tony Mazzara that quickly changes. All her life Amber has tried to be good to win her mothers approval and find favor with a God she isn't even sure exists. This isn't a story about finding faith though because Amber quickly realizes she wants Tony to show her just how to be a bad girl. Tony isn't into relationships. They never work out and he can't take letting someone down so he doesn't tie himself to anyone. When he gets locked in the storm cellar with Amber she gets under his skin in a big way. The spark between these two is obvious from the beginning no matter how they fight it. I really loved Tony. He was very sexy and sweet when he wanted to be. You have to admire a guy who realizes he isn't relationship material and comes right out and says "Pardon me darlin' I never promised you a rose garden" or however that lame ass song goes. The thing that surprised me the most was the way Amber and her mother bonded over ice cream during a moment in the book when Amber was figuring things out. They have a sweet heart to heart and Amber starts to understand why her mother has been so tough on her growing up. It was really nice to see some depth in this story with it being so short and I absolutely love the way Ruthie writes. You get into these characters heads just enough to understand why they do what they do! What was the best part?

This:

and This:

Yep! I went there! Despite it being a short story there were several really steamy scenes that will get those big granny panties of yours all juiced up! This is a definite must read not only for the hotness but because the next book is even hotter! Shhhh...

The next book in this series is even better and it's much longer so you get a glimpse at all the saucy, suspenseful and dramatic goodness Ruthie brings to the table!

How to Misbehave is only .99 Cents!!

                                           About The Author:

Ruthie Knox figured out how to walk and read at the same time in the second grade, and she hasn’t looked up since. She spent her formative years hiding romance novels in her bedroom closet to avoid the merciless teasing of her brothers and imagining scenarios in which someone who looked remarkably like Daniel Day Lewis recognized her well-hidden sex appeal and rescued her from middle-class Midwestern obscurity. After graduating from Grinnell College with an English and history double major, she earned a Ph.D. in modern British history that she’s put to remarkably little use. These days, she writes contemporary romance in which witty, down-to-earth characters find each other irresistible in their pajamas, though she freely admits this has yet to happen to her. Perhaps she needs more exciting pajamas. Ruthie abhors an epilogue and insists a decent romance requires at least three good sex scenes.

***This book is for mature audiences only!***

Excerpt:

The Bargain – Her Part

"Watch with me for a while and see what comes up."
"I suppose you think watching porn is foreplay."
"As much as reading it is."
She wanted to argue, but she couldn't deny that reading a descriptive love scene turned her on. "All right. I'll watch this with you, if you'll read one of my books with me."
"Sounds fair. Just make sure you read me the juicy parts. None of the mushy stuff."
"Agreed. But I want to see some naked men. All this girl stuff is...." She caught her breath as a woman on the screen tugged her own nipples and moaned while another woman licked between her spread legs. "Okay, it's hot, but I want man flesh, too." She sat in his lap and rubbed her butt against the ridge in his jeans.
"You got it." He clicked a couple of links and showed her a gallery of images. "I think you'll like this one." He clicked play.
The video started with a man with long, flowing hair and rock-hard muscles dressed as a cowboy tossing bales of hay onto a wagon. "Wow, he's hot."
Charlie nibbled her shoulder. "I know what my baby wants."
A sexy cowgirl wearing microscopic cut-off jeans and a barely-there shirt offered him a drink. He downed it in one gulp, then took the pitcher from her and poured it over her mountainous cleavage. She tried to act offended, but she wasn’t very good at it, and her shirt ended up at her feet. "They're terrible actors."
"No one watches porn for the acting, honey."
"Good point. He's got a nice body. Wow!"
The cowboy's pants hit the ground, and the cowgirl dropped to her knees to suck his huge cock. "How can she get that whole thing in her mouth?"
"Mmm... practice?" His hand snaked under her shirt, and her nipple hardened before his fingers even touched it.
He unzipped her jeans and wiggled his fingers into her panties. She squirmed in her husband's lap, her thighs splayed while he teased her. "I like that."
"I thought you would."
"No. I meant I like watching him take his clothes off."
Charlie laughed softly against her shoulder, making circles on her skin with his tongue. "I can tell." His fingers slipped on the wet, pulsing nub between her legs, and she moaned.
"Do they always leave their shoes on?"
He blinked at the screen.
The cowgirl had draped her legs over the cowboy's shoulders, and dug into his back with her boots. He spread her thighs wide and exposed her pink flesh to the camera.
Charlie grunted. "I never noticed."
The porn star moaned and writhed while her partner licked her pussy. "Oh, here's where the acting starts," said Andrea.
"Think so?"
"No one comes that fast."
"We'll see." He pulled her shirt off and massaged her breasts, pinching her nipples between his fingers.
"Mmm... I like that." She moaned and leaned back into his arms. "You, I mean."

****Giveaway At The Bottom****

Hootie Says:

                                        ^^^^THIS^^^^

Seriously I need to run through a garden sprinkler at the moment! Amelia James has quickly become my favorite trashy writer with her fiery, sexy, fun books. Whenever I'm in the mood for a good raunchy read I know who to turn to! The Devil Made Me Do It was a compilation of short erotic stories that had me putting the book down several times to cool off. And by "Cool Off" I mean handle my business. And By "Handle My Business" I mean.... LOL you get the picture! The main thing I loved about this book was that most of the couples were married and keeping their "Flame" flickering by saucing up their bedroom! Ladies if you need some ideas to seduce your hubby, you need to read this! I loved how all the men in the stories have blue eyes. Nothing is more sexy than a big man with baby blues! One of the sexiest things I have often found myself daydreaming about is a big muscular man in a kilt! That is where Amelia and I get along perfectly (besides that we are both HUGE Packer fans!) because we love Scotsman with a Christmas skirt! One of the stories in this book was called Midnight Rendezvous that featured a sexy Highland Warrior named Duncan Mackenzie. The best part about novellas, especially erotic novellas is that the story never gets stale. You get to experience several different things and it stays exciting and new! I wish some of the stories would have gone on just a little longer because i started to really like certain characters but it was still good. I think my favorite story within this book is the actual Devil Made Me Do It short. It holds one of my favorite quotes I have read in a book:

"Yeah, but men don't always get hints. I had to beat Brian over the head with a clue-by-four before he got it."

Isn't that clever as shit?? Amelia James knows how to make you giggle and swoon while simultaneously ruining your drawers! One of these days I will buy stock in Hanes Her Way! There were several quotable moments throughout but you will have to read it for yourself! Don't worry, you won't be disappointed!

Review: Leave Me Breathless by Cherrie Lynn

Synopsis from Goodreads:

It's Valentine's Day, but Macy Rodgers isn't feeling the love. Aside from a torrid, one-night fling in a backseat a few months back, her love life has been sorely lacking, but fortunately she has devious friends who feel like playing Cupid. Wouldn't they be shocked to learn that the match they've made for her is the same one that steamed up the back of that '69 GTO...

Seth "Ghost" Warren has just returned to town after an extended absence. Between his grandmother's failing health, his job as a tattoo artist, his band's gigs, and a crazy ex that won't leave him alone, he's stretched thin. Cautious cowgirl Macy is the last thing he needs thrown into the mix.

She's all country, he's all heavy metal—and Macy knows that if anyone can propel her out of her rut, it's Seth. But when their worlds collide, it's anyone guess if they'll survive with their hearts intact.

Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, road trips, trouble making exes, emotional baggage, and an unconventional but exceptionally hot hero tatted and pierced for your pleasure...

Hootie Says:

I started reading this series bass ackwards! I read Rock Me first and thought nothing could be hotter than Brian and Candace, then I read Unleashed and Evan and Kelsey claimed my favorite couple spot. Little did I realize a big muscular guy with a shaved head and tattoos would knock ALL of them down! This book was hands down my favorite!!! I didn't realize when we got that small glimpse of Macy and Ghost in Rock Me that we would get such epic-ness! The story kicks off with Macy out on Valentines night with her friends trying to cheer her up, when Seth "Ghost" Warren shows up. Macy is the COMPLETE opposite from Ghost seeing as how they are in a country bar.

"What in the actual fuck are we doing in a Honky-Tonk?"

Macy is feeling a little down because she thinks she doesn't fit in with her eclectic group of friends. She ends up sitting next to Ghost who immediately starts getting a little frisky, making her nervous. They end up back in the same spot they left off at almost a year prior, in his GTO! (The hotness in this scene was just a small taste of what is to come!)

"Happy Valentines Day"

It's obvious they are into each other, because as the story progresses shit heats up to max boiling point which left me panting and wishing I had a man instead of just a shower massage.

Macy was a professional horse rider until an accident ended her career. One night after Ghost takes her on a real date he tries to help talk her into getting back into the riding scene. I loved how patient and sweet Ghost was to Macy when it came to her vulnerabilities. You wouldn't think a big guy with piercings and tattoos had a soft side.

“Baby, a little something about me you might not know yet… I don’t run that easily. And you don’t scare me.”

Let us take a moment to bask in the sexiness that is Ghost!

Jesus... was... JEWISH! I almost couldn't handle the hot factor that is Seth "Ghost" Warren. He's not just a sexual beast he had a vulnerability that made me fall in love with him a hundred times in this book. He had some problems that caused him to feel less than worthy of someone like Macy and his crazy bitch ex stirred the pot and caused ultimate chaos! We learned a few things about Ghosts' past heartaches and the reasons why he is reluctant to get involved in relationships. My poor baby, I just wanted to snuggle him in my bosom!

"You are the best I’ve ever had. If all we do from now on is straight missionary sex at eight p.m. on Tuesday nights of months that start with J, you’ll still be the best I’ve ever had.”

UGH! I have always had a weakness for guys like Ghost. I think that is why I have such a hard on for him! There were so many great moments in this book and we get to see glimpses of past characters that made me supremely ecstatic! The relationship between Macy and her best friend Candace grew deeper in this book once they had a heart to heart talk about everything.

“Great. In other words, ‘You’re a raging bitch only a best friend could love’. I had no idea I had so little self-awareness.”

The shit hits the fan 3/4 of the way through and I wanted to puke! Sitting at work trying not to go ape shit was really hard. Ghost has a really psycho ex girlfriend (Raina) who got on my damn nerves throughout the book. I don't think I have ever had the desire to crawl inside a book and beat a characters ass more than with this book! Thankfully though Macy knows how to handle stupid skanks trying to bring drama!

“I might look like a wimpy rich bitch, Raina, but I only look that way. I know people. I’ve wrestled animals bigger than you. And I can shoot.”

TOTAL. FUCKING. WIN. This shit gave me lady wood! I wanted to stand up and clap like a dumbass when I read this scene!!

This was such a fantastic edition to the series, and I am so thankful that Cherrie decided to listen to the fans and write the story these two characters deserved. It's really hard to top a first book in a series but it was accomplished 100% with Leave me Breathless. It made me actually wish the characters really existed because they were so real , and down to earth just like you would want your good friends to be! This book left me with an enormous high I am still riding the wave of. It's worthy of more than 5 stars but I guess the book rating system is still hung up on Ed McMahon and star search! (If he were alive I would totally do him!)

The only thing I am curious about is the mystery sister of Brian and Evan Ross. I have thought about her since Rock Me and have often wondered if she would get a story......hmm maybe Cherrie will respond to this question lol!  OK my babies I'm going to get my grub on, you go check out this book!

Review: Undercover Professor - December Gephart

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Rule Number One: Must not lie.
Rule Number Two: Must not live with parents.
Rule Number Three: Must have a job.
Rule Number Four: Must not be a friend's ex.

These dating rules shouldn't be hard for Lucy Benoit to follow—after all, she made them. But she didn't plan on falling for Andy Sullivan, a scruffy-yet-attractive man who lives with his mother and is between jobs. These should be deal-breakers, but in other ways Andy is just her type. And there's something intriguing about him…

Andy isn't the geeky gamer he claims to be—not by a long shot. But what seemed like a harmless social experiment has put his chances of a relationship with Lucy at risk. Even if she can get past the silly rules she has set for herself, will she ever forgive him for breaking Rule Number One?

****WARNING FOR MATURE READERS ONLY!****

Hootie Says:

Is it hot in here or is it just me???

This book was hot, steamy, fun and sexy!

Lucy Benoit has had some really crappy luck in the dating world ( I can totally relate!) and has created a list of guidelines to go by when picking a suitor. when she meets Andy Sullivan, her neighbors son, she is instantly attracted even though his appearance is less than savory. They strike up a conversation while doing laundry and they quickly give in to the attraction and get a little freaky! when Lucy meets her cousin Becca for dinner she finds out Andy has been busy. Lucy thinks Andy and Becca are dating and tries to stay away from him. Andy keeps insisting her cousin is reading more into his intentions than he meant for her to and tries to get Lucy to give him a chance. OMG! Lucy's cousin Becca is straight up bat shit crazy!

Watching Andy try to make Becca understand he doesn't want to date her is hilarious! She won't take no for an answer even when he flat out tells her he doesn't want her! She actually thinks they are meant to be together LOL! Girls like that are scary and I can sorta understand why some guys "bang and bail" or "hit and quit". Once Andy finally manages to shake Becca loose he focuses his attention on Lucy or "Juicy Lucy" as he calls her! She knows he is hiding something but she can't figure out what it is. Andy was such a cool character, he was charming and sexy but also sweet and kind. I loved the chemistry between him and Lucy. I found myself getting into the actual story behind all the erotic, sexy goodness! I love when there is a really cute, fun, emotional story behind the erotica and it's not just about the sexual content. Lucy and Andy face some challenges when she finally discovers what he has been hiding. I felt solidarity with Lucy. She was a strong character and picked herself up from the ashes of her broken life and made it better for herself. That's what made this feel real to me. They had real issues and obstacles to overcome. It's one of those stories you could read again and again because the characters come to life off the pages.

(HUGE THANKS TO NETGALLEY FOR THE ARC!)
