When those intentions threaten Aly, Jared loses all control, giving into the rage that earned him his bad boy reputation years before. And he’ll fight to protect her no matter what it costs…even if he destroys himself in the process.

Globug's Review

I am such a sucker for a broken man. I fell hard in love with Jared in Come To Me Quitely. Jared has been running from the guilt of killing his mother in a car accident since the day he turned sixteen. He's tried to numb the pain by using drugs and alcohol and even attempted to take his life. Aly saved him then and six years later she became his reason to live when he returned to Phoenix.

Now in Come To Me Softly Jared is committed to staying with Aly and trying be there for her and the baby. He's looking forward to their future but still hasn't faced his past. Nightmares continue to invade his sleep at night and Aly is his only source of comfort. She's happy to be there for him but she knows it's just a matter of time until he cracks again. She just hopes she can be there to pick up the pieces instead of him running away again. Her brother Christopher has been a huge support for Aly and Jared but he can't help but voice his concerns about Jared's state of mind.

I knew Aly's parents would be upset when they learned of not only her relationship with Jared but that she was also pregnant. I wasn't expecting her father to be so insensitive. He's made it very clear since the death of Jared's mother that he didn't want Jared in his families lives. It was heart breaking when Aly's father tells Jared he's not welcome in their home and blames him for destroying both families. Then Aly's ex comes along to stir the shit pot as well pushing Jared to his breaking point. This time Jared doesn't run but Aly forces him to finally face his past and his family before they can be together.

Jared comes face to face with his father and sister and was shocked to see they had moved on with life in ways he hasn't been able to. I wish his father had tried to find him years ago so they could heal together. He was able to finally help mend Jared's broken heart and soul. The pain and memory will never be forgotten but with his father and sister back in his life he can finally accept the happiness of the future he can have with Aly, and of course with the little baby they have on the way.

I highly recommend this series.
