Cover Designer: Sarah Hansen at Okay Creations

Book Description:
Beau Montgomery is not the typical single dad for three reasons:

1.      He’s rich and famous.
2.      He needs a nanny, like yesterday.
3.      He has no idea if eight month old, Mia, is actually his daughter.

Only, number three doesn’t matter to him at all, because he’s determined to give up everything to be a standup dad, including racing, partying, and his very favorite vice, women. Until that is, he’s invited to race at Monaco—a dream he’s always had. Now, all those things he’d sworn to give up are at his fingertips, including the very inconveniently hot nanny, Landry Basnight, who’s travelling with him.

Landry Basnight is the typical college graduate for three reasons:

1.      She’s broke and in debt up to her eyeballs.
2.      She needs a job, like yesterday.
3.      Nothing exciting ever happens in her life.

Only, number three is about to change, because she’s been hired by Beau Montgomery, son of NASCAR Racing Royalty. Landry’s parents are big fans of the Montgomerys, while she couldn’t care less—all she wants to do is make a dent in her student loan bill. However, that doesn’t stop her from falling in love with her little charge, nor does it make it easier to resist Beau’s charms.  In fact , she doesn’t resist at all.

Lines are crossed and then forgotten as Beau and Landry grow closer, but when Beau’s ex-girlfriend, the woman he’s loved since high school, and Mia’s mother shows up, everything starts to fall apart for the new couple.

Will their love weather the storm, or will Beau abandon Landry for the family he’s always wanted?

Review:

I first met Beau while reading Drive Me Crazy in The Holland Springs series. he was just a wee babe then, with his green hair and piercings. Even with his somewhat rebellious demeanor I could tell there was something special about Beau Montgomery. Having seen glimpses of him throughout the Boys Of The South series my first assumption about him was that he was a total skirt chasing man slut. With all the wild parties he's thrown and the girls in abundance it was shocking to finally get the story behind his behavior.

Beau Montgomery has not had an easy life. After his mother's suicide he's forced to live with Remington, his famous race car driver Father and his wife and children. Considering himself a bastard the relationship with his father is strained and makes him feel like an outsider. During his first summer in a new town he meets Paisley, a young woman who steals his heart. They share a special bond in that they both have mothers who committed suicide and find something in each other that helps ease the burden of heartache. What starts as a summer fling becomes an on again off again spiral of deception and lies that created another life.

There is something especially sexy about a man with a baby. After everything Beau and Paisley have been through the final straw for him is the delivery of a child that may or may not be his. I absolutely hated how torn up Beau was throughout the earlier scenes in this book. Paisley is absolutely horrible to him and it made me really sad he put up with so much. Normally a guy who lets a woman walk all over him is a huge turn off but Beau came across as loving but firm, strong yet vulnerable. Once little Mia comes along though Beau has no other choice but to live exclusively for her leaving Paisley in his rear view mirror. Seeing this man with a tiny baby and how much he loved her melted not just my heart but my damn panties as well. He gives up so much to care for Mia but when he gets the opportunity to race overseas in Monaco his decision to hire a nanny turns out to be the best one of his life.

Landry comes into Beau's life at the perfect moment and in such a fun way. Their first meeting at a gentlemen's club was sexy and sets up their chemistry for later enjoyment. Although Landry isn't into the more nude side of the job, her encounter with Beau has tongues wagging and causes her to find another means of employment to pay for college. Which leads her right back to Beau's doorstep when she interviews to be his nanny while in Monaco. I love that she was full of moxie and determination. She didn't let Beau's good looks and charm sway her from doing her job and the bond she formed with Mia throughout was adorable. I loved how accepting she was of Beau's past and the things he went through with Paisley. She was mature and listened to her gut instead of what everyone else told her.

If we could give out Oscars for best book villain I think Paisley would win hands down. She was so cruel to Beau with her hurtful actions, always cheating on him which lead to his "Maybe Baby". I hated her so much but I hated myself more because some of the awful things she said to Beau made me cackle out loud. I kept thinking to myself "Dammit Hootie, Get it together! She's mean! Stop Laughing!" It was like a train wreck, I just couldn't stop myself. It's like, how can you hate a character so much but laugh at the evil shit they say to someone else? For that I have no answer. So, I kept reading and Paisley became an even bigger witch but then something really beautiful happened with her character. One of the things I absolutely love about reading is when an author can redeem a totally unlikable character. It's always such an unexpected but welcomed surprise that makes my reading experience that much more engaging.

The Boys Of the South series has been an incredible rollercoaster ride with each guy as they find their women. This feels a little bittersweet because it seems like the series is winding down and it seems like just yesterday I was reading about Cole and his naked ass, or Wyatt and his affection for the booger sugar or hell, even Jaxon Hunter and his whiskey kisses. Out of all the guys I have to say Beau is my favorite with Wyatt coming in a close second. Beau had such a great story and his growth from Holland Springs to now was gorgeously written. The realistic and heartfelt way that everything came together for Beau was everything I hoped for him. Precious baby Mia stole the show several times and being introduced to another great female character in Landry made me a happy girl. Valentine knows how to bring together a sexy and sweet romance with passion and depth that gets under your skin and makes even the hardest hearted person believe in love. Experience the love and romance and sometimes passionate hatred and grab the Boys Of The South series now!

Excerpt, Part Three

For a moment I let my guard down and study him objectively. He can’t be older than twenty-five or twenty six.  “How old are you?”

He smiles and I feel my knees get all weak. “Old enough.”
“Touché, pussycat.” My eyes round and I want to die. I did not just say that. The phrase is something my family says when we play board games and whip up on each other. Nervous laughter bubbles up before I can stop myself. I wince and bite my lip.
“Laughing not allowed?”

“Sometimes it gives the wrong impression.
He raises his brows. “I don’t know about that.”
“You’re supposed to get her number, not her fucking life story,” a guy calls out.

My face heats, like I’ve just been caught making out on the couch by my parents. Mr. Big Shot flashes a look of annoyance at the guy behind me and then shakes his head. “Ignore my brother.”
“Half-brother, bitch.”

Before I can give the half-brother asshole a piece of my mind, Mr. Big Shot beats me to it. “Language, Walker. Lisa’s a lady.” He flashes me an apologetic smile.

“Fuck off, Beau.”

Mr. Big Shot’s name is Beau Montgomery? The name sounds familiar to me, but I can’t place it, other than brother to Chase Montgomery, the owner. “Drink?”

“Two bottles of VOSS.”

Water? I force my expression back to full on sexy and friendly. I practice this look in front of the mirror every time I come to work and can make it in my sleep Seriously. Meagan took a picture of me doing it.

 “Anything else?”
