Hootie's 2013 Year In Review & Giveaway!!

This has been one crazy year not only in the world of reality but the book world has exploded with so many amazing stories it's hard to narrow my list down. I ended up reading over 150 books and below you will find some of the stories that have touched me and will stay with me for a long time. Some of these you may know and may have even read and some you may not even know exist. You can click the cover pic and find their Goodreads information.

The Untouchable Series
by Lindsay Delagair:

First up is the Untouchable series by Lindsay Delagair. This series tied me in knots, made me fall in love and broke my heart several times with each book. These are books that upon any form of reflection can make me emotional just remembering everything that happened. The covers do the story absolutely NO justice and almost turned me off but I had a gut feeling the story would deliver.

GOOD by S. Walden:

Good by S. Walden is one of those stories that may be too taboo for some people. The story of a seventeen year old high school student who falls in love with her teacher. I've always been fascinated with these kinds of stories and falling in love with this book was not hard at all. This author came out of nowhere for me and I am so glad I got a chance to read GOOD because it produced one of my favorite couples. Mark and Cadence go through alot in their relationship and I loved every minute.

A Little Too Far by
Lisa Desrochers:

There are no words to adequately describe my affection for this book. It took me on one of the best emotional roller coaster rides I have ever been on. I think I felt every single human emotion possible but mainly excitement and lust. I craved every single second of this story. A Girl torn between her best friend/step brother versus a hot Italian priest. I could probably read this book a hundred times and never get sick of it.

Bridge Over the Atlantic by
Lisa J. Hobman

Bridge Over The Atlantic was a complete emotional tear jerker. I am not one who likes to cry very much and it takes a lot to tug at my heartstrings enough to make it happen but this book had me in tears for a few days after. Losing the love of your life is probably the hardest thing a person can do but I imagine moving on is even harder. I was captivated by this debut novel and hope I never forget one of the few books to make me cry like a child.

Wicked Beat (Sinners On Tour #4)
by Olivia Cunning:

Olivia Cunning and her Sinners series were the very first erotic romance books I read. I was blown away and shocked and honestly learned a few things for future reference. My favorite in this series is Wicked Beat. Being a drummer most of my young life I was drawn to Eric Sticks from the start of the series and was absolutely pleased with his story. These books remain my top recommendation for anyone looking for a hot story with fantastic characters.

Keep Me Still & Hold Us Close
 by Caisey Quinn:

If you ask me to recommend a story where the characters make you fall completely in love with them and have you at their mercy I would hands down say Keep Me Still and it's sequel novella Hold Us Close. I can't quite explain what it was exactly that had me so enamored with these books other than the fact that it was phenomenally underrated. Landen and Layla are one of those couples you root for and never forget when the story is finished.

Keeping Secrets In Seattle
 by Brooke Moss:

I love a story about best friends who have harbored feelings for each other but don't make a move for fear of losing that relationship. It takes a talented author to walk that line of too much angst and just enough. Moss delivers a fantastic story with just enough emotional turmoil to keep you hooked and a finish that will make you swoon. I love a good epilogue!

Snake In The Grass (Good Gods #2) &What The Heart Wants (Good Gods #2.5)
 by Staci Hart:

Book two in the series about Greek Gods competing in a centuries old competition to match pairs of humans with their soul mates before a certain time was a surprise hit for me. Where the first book was hilarious and charming Snake In The Grass got more serious, more intense and more emotional. The match between Kat and Dillon, the two main characters, who are very reserved and stubborn produced a sub couple that produced What The Heart wants. The story of Katsu and Kim was gorgeous. Hart delivers stories that are at times serious, fun and sexy but always wonderful!

The Only Exception
 by Magan Vernon:

The Only Exception was not only an amazing story about opposites attracting but it gave me one of my favorite book boyfriends of the year! He was so sweet, charming, patient and sexy. Trey Chapman was everything I look for in a male lead and I fell in love with him instantly. There was something incredibly special about him and his character that caught me off guard but was so endearing I won't forget him any time soon.
