Mature NA Contemporary Romance

Released December 3, 2013

BEFORE WE FALL Synopsis:

Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black...

For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He's a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn't care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.

23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it's an absence of moments. She's like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other... to fill the void that her father left in her.

Until she meets Dominic.

After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.

Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated... they've learned a priceless lesson.

Sometimes, before we fall... we fly.

Globug's Review

Those of you who have read the first two books in this series know how intense these stories begin. You start reading and then you just can't look away. Cole creates characters who are essentially broken and takes you on a journey as they survive and overcome. Fiction has never been so real as the characters deal with adversity that so many of us can identify with.

It's clear Dominic suffers and that it's because of a girl in his past. He hides his pain by distracting himself watching others. Watching them have sex or anything else the public would see as deviant. As a well known movie actor, Dominic has his pick of women. He's use to women always wanting him for his celebrity status. Whatever happened to the girl from his youth has scarred him with toxic feelings of being unworthy and unable to trust women.

At first Jacey appears to be no different from the rest of the women he's met. One minute she puts Dom in his place and the next minute she's swooning and letting Dom have his way. They are forced to work together doing community service after a run in with the law. Despite Dom's efforts to deny having any redeeming qualities, his actions prove he has a giving heart and Jacey can see it. Desire builds and though Dom is honest from the start about his intentions he wasn't expecting to become dependent on Jacey. He definitely wasn't expecting to feel jealous of a another man wanting Jacey's affection.

You will love Dominic's brothers Sin and Duncan. Dom's brothers, sister and parents have been so supportive but he's never confided in them about the night he lost his first love Emma. The author gives you clues along the way and I had guessed early on what one of his secrets was. But I was crushed for Dom when all the details of his relationship with Emma are revealed. There is a reason he punishes and blames himself for her death. But even Dom doesn't know the full extent of betrayal. Jacey plays a huge role in helping Dominic face his demons. Dom's friends and family come together to help repair and heal broken hearts and relationships.

The most unexpected piece of this story is how the author ties the prologue into the epilogue. It's pure genius and would be cruel of me to ruin the epicness of it by giving you any hints about a connection you won't see coming. Bravo Courtney Cole. I also loved the continued connection with the characters in book two.I can't wait to see what you do next. I would love a book about any of the new supporting characters.

Courtney Cole Bio:

Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.

Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

  2. Haven't read any of her books but I do enjoy family drama esp when the siblings stand out.

  3. I'm glad you loved it. Dom can be hard to love, but once you fall for him...umph! Loved Duncan and Sin too! And yes, the proligue and epi were so sweet.
