After their passionate, heated weekend at the Cunningham estate, Lily and Calder have decided to take their relationship to the next level. But love in the real world isn’t all fun and games—especially when it becomes clear that Calder still harbors his share of secrets.

When Calder suggests they hold off on sex for a while, Lily knows something is seriously wrong—and she’s not afraid to pull out the big guns. She makes Calder a proposal he can’t refuse: an ongoing match of Truth or Dare that she hopes will bring them closer together both physically and emotionally.

But as the contest increases in intensity, so do the stakes, and suddenly Lily and Calder have to face the question they’ve both been avoiding: what sort of relationship do they have when they strip away all the games?
Globug's Take
Just three weeks after the story ended in His Wicked Games, Lily starts a game of Truth or Dare. Unfortunately, Lily and Calder still don't have truth on their side. Both are having trouble being completely honest. Not just with each other, but Lily has yet to tell her Dad about her new relationship with "the sex god" who is "responsible for the near-ruin" of her fathers dreams, the community art center. The author brings the heat before the couple can even go out on their first date at 3% into the story. No complaints here.

There's no denying the physical chemistry they have. But Lily wants to believe they have a deeper connection. It quickly becomes clear that Calder is keeping things from her. She wants to be there for him, to be supportive as he tries to deal with and overcome the death of his father and the financial nightmare he was left with. So again, the games begin between Calder and Lily. She believes a game of Truth or Dare can not only get her  answers to so many of the secrets Calder keeps, but will allow her to be a "suitable distraction" that could bring a little happiness back to his life.

Both Lily and Calder have issues with self doubt that only magnify their trust issues. Games are not the solution. Add a massive douche bag reporter to the mix and things go downhill without Lily even seeing it happen. Their relationship is really put to the test when Calder's family financial ruin becomes public knowledge. Once Calder comes clean to Lily about all his concerns and the secrets he's been keeping, things take a massive turn down the path of 'oh shit I messed up'. Lily was played the fool by mister D-bag reporter. Now Calder feels totally betrayed. Is love too late? Both know what their hearts want. But just as it looks like it's game over, Calder makes a major play. My heart swoons even more for him as he tries to win Lily's heart but more importantly her trust. Happy endings are always the best. I look forward to more games this fall with book three titled Through My Window.

  1. Haven't read this series but it sounds interesting. I wonder how I'd feel about the lying or lack of truth telling going on?
