Review of Descended by Blood by Angeline Kace

You've heard the saying "you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family". Well meet Brooke in Descended by Blood. I'm sure she wishes that wasn't true. But it's perfect that she has a best friend,Kaitlynn, that is loyal and accepting. Just as her reality starts to be her dream, it turns into a nightmare.
Brooke is smart and tough with a tender heart. She's got her pick of two guys wanting to love her but can't make a choice just yet. She's going to need them both to survive the hand she's been dealt. Bad boys with accents get me EVERY time. So after reading Descended by Blood I can say without a doubt I am Team Mirko.
I had some difficulty with pronouncing the race-names used in the book(Pijawikan and Zao Duhs) but I'm glad that the reason for the "funky names" was explained in the story. I also enjoyed the new spin on Vampires in this story. They are not your average Twilight vampires but are just as easy to love.
The only negative to this book would be that it ended too soon. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
