Blog Tour: Until I Met You by S.L. Scott

RELEASE DAY: OCTOBER 23

Their love burned bright, white hot, and strikingly blue around the edges.
Some thought them careless.
Some thought them crazy.
No one approved.
Taylor Barrett was looking for answers in a universe that had abandoned him.
Jude Boehler flooded her dark world with charisma and mystery, drawing everyone into her hurricane.
It was a most captivating of love affairs. They were shooting stars, meteors in the sky, colliding to create a spectacularly wonderful reckless romance, leaving them breathless and tethered.
But that’s what Love does.
Their souls were exposed to the chaos, bare and vulnerable. Can these two star-crossed lovers survive the madness that is life?

Globug's Reveiw

This was so different from anything I've read by Scott before. Jude Boehler is so unique. At first I wasn't sure if she was crazy or just quirky. I wasn't expecting her to be such a tortured soul.

By the end of chapter three my gut squeezed when I realized that something was terribly wrong in Jude's life. The way she talks in circles added to my indecision about rather she was mentally unstable or just eccentric. At times she seemed so innocent and child-like. Taylor is totally taken with her when they meet. He's not quite sure what to think about her whimsical behavior  but he's drawn to her and she makes him feel more alive than he has in months.

"Show me how to love. Until I met you, I think I've been doing it all wrong."

She kissed his temple and said, "When done right, love is felt, not shown."

Taylor is also a struggling soul. Throughout the story I couldn't help but notice how little his parents were involved in his life. He's actually quite lonely. When he needed friends and family the most they failed him. The fear of losing Jude makes him keep hidden the truth about his ex-fiance. She understands the need for secrets and it's most painful when she begins to share hers.

When Taylor and Jude are together it's like reality disappears and they exist in a bubble of love and bliss. You can't help but feel hope that Taylor will be able to save her from her demons. I was so scared for Jude. Her situation added suspense that made it difficult to put the book down. Until Taylor came into her life she's had no one that tried to help her.

Wealth is one of the biggest demons in both of their lives. They're surrounded by people that are driven by greed or are self-absorbed. I loved that the author makes sure the characters that deserve punishment get it. I would have loved for Taylor's ex to get a nasty visit from Karma though. Most of all I loved that Taylor and Jude get more than just a happy ending. It's more of a happily ever after with the surprise the author gives them. This was definitely my favorite by S.L. Scott so far.

 Excerpt

“I’m going to want all of you. I want all your secrets and your soul.”
She squirmed beneath him, forgiving him of his own sin of denying her his secrets, as he lowered himself. “Don’t you know, Hazel? You’ve had all of me all along.”
He kissed her just above where she really wanted him. Teasing her. “You’re getting demanding.” Kiss.
“I can’t help it. You created a monster.”
“You’re lucky I find you so delectable.”
She knew exactly how fortunate she was. “I am. I’m the luckiest girl in the—” She gasped when he kissed her exactly where she had wanted. “Oh God, Hazel. I’m so lucky.” The tips of her fingers dragged slowly up her body as she murmured, “Lucky. Lucky. Luck! E.”
Shortly after, the starburst whitened the insides of her lids, and she returned the favor. He was left helplessly at her mercy until his body was teetering on the edge of ecstasy and what felt like death. Jude got up and kissed his chest. “I want you, babe, inside me.”
He sat up. “You want me? You get me on my terms. On your hands and knees.”
Her body clenched in anticipation. Even though they have had passionate sex, even some rough, play that was fun, he had never made demands of her. But she liked it. She liked feeling wanted sexually. Positioning herself, she felt his warm palms glide over her back and bottom before she felt a gentle pressure. Her breath was pushed out as he pushed in, holding her steady by the hips.

EXCERPT

Entering his building made her feet lighter. She was being carried on the wings of euphoria, each step easier than the last. She wasn’t walking to her future. She was running toward it. Taking a breath, she held it, and knocked on his door.

The door opened and he stood there with his lips parted and confusion furrowing his brow. “Jude?”

Throwing herself forward, she jumped up and wrapped her body around his and kissed him. Then again. He kicked the door closed and held her against it. When they parted, they remained close enough to share their panting breaths. He said, “You’re here.” When he pressed his abs against her center her head knocked hard on the wood and he kissed the exposed skin of her neck where it met her shoulder.

He was strong. He was virile. “Hey,” she said, bringing his face up to see hers.

Lowering her down until her feet touched, he said, “I thought we were meeting at the park?”

“I couldn’t wait.”

His glorious smile chose to shine on her. “I’m glad you didn’t. Do you want to go to the bedroom?”

Giggling, she replied, “Yes, so much, but I need to talk to you first.”

“Okay.” He walked to the couch and she stared gob-smacked by his allure. Jeans that hung low. No shirt. Boxers peeking out the top, but a V that directed her eyes below the waistband. He was a tease as he stood there waiting for her to join him. Sitting on the couch, he patted it. “C’mere.”

She started walking on shaky legs. As she passed the bar, she debated if she should stay there to save her clarity. That seat next to him was tempting, but she knew she’d be flat on her back within seconds. So she hurried to his side and sat down. His hands were instantly on her.

Austin Review Tour

1 Woman 2 Endings – You Choose – Team Dylan or Team Austin. Sept 29 read one or both to see how it all plays out.

Austin Synopsis:

Ever since that fateful day, I became an expert at avoidance.

Avoiding attachments. Avoiding relationships. Avoiding love.

My company became my constant, the only companion I needed… until a chance encounter with Jules Weston. I met her at a most vulnerable moment. Despite the tears that streaked her face, I fell in love the first time I ever laid eyes on her. needed her in my life.

She was broken, but I knew I could heal her. I would wait until she let me into her heart, allowing me to love her. And maybe, just maybe, one day she could heal me too.

Globug's Review

I have fallen in love with novellas. They are the perfect little break from reality. A quick building story that still has all the character development needed to make you fall in love with them so hard that you can't wait for more. That's if they're done right. Not only has Scott done it right but she's done it in a unique way, at least it was unique for me. At the end of Scorned I knew I was Team Austin. What I wasn't expecting was that after reading Jealousy I was torn by feelings for Dylan. Then the author lets you decide who you want Jules to choose, Team Austin or Team Dylan. You get to decide the ending.

So like I said I chose Team Austin. For three years he has been trying to develop his business relationship with Jules into a romantic one. He's known from their first meeting that he wanted to be in her life. He wanted to be the one to heal her heart. He could see she was broken but also strong. He was patient and understanding until she was ready to open her heart to him. There is so much to love about Austin. Of course he's gorgeous but he's  also sweet and sensitive. He grew up having very little and created a successful business. He's now rich and travels the world. One of my favorite things about Austin after reading his book is his loyalty and honesty. When most guys would try to screw away their feelings of being rejected, Austin chooses to remember who he loves and that banging bimbos won't solve any problems. Thank God! He is one of the most perfect book boyfriends.

Though the choice for me was pretty easy, Jules struggles to understand her heart and decide who she will give her whole heart to. You may get to choose who gets the happy ending but you don't know the path the author will take to get there. I'm really happy I chose Austin but I will definitely read Dylan too.  It's 5 out of 5 stars for Scorned, Jealousy and Austin.

Dylan Synopsis:

Four years ago, I was tempted with money, prestige, and power by a woman who offered to give me the world. That lifestyle came with a price. I had to leave the love of my life—the one person who had already given me everything I would ever need.

Today I watch Jules Weston in another man's arms. Wanting... needing her back in my life again. But there are obstacles that keep us apart. Her boyfriend. Her best friend. Her anger that has raged inside her over the years.

Despite those, I’ve returned to take back what's mine. The one thing I regret leaving behind—her heart.

Synopsis For Scorned & Jealousy

We shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.

I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.

Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.

To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.

This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.

This is our story.
