From USA Today bestselling author Lisa Desrochers, comes the third book in her sizzling New Adult series. If you play with fire Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them. Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming. Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

My Review:

A Little Too Hot was a little bit of a surprise for me. I have been hooked on these books form the beginning and haven't been able to forget them. At first I didn't realize this one would be about Sam who was mentioned throughout the first book as Lexie's best friend and Trent's girlfriend. I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of hers in the first book and I was skeptical that she could make me love her. A Little Too Hot not only proved it was just as amazing as the other books but it delivered an exciting, steamy and romantic story that had me on the edge of my seat.

On the heels of being dumped by her boyfriend in favor of her best friend, losing her job and being kicked out of her parents house, Samantha West has had a tough hand dealt to her. Crashing on her friends couch until she can get another job she's desperate and willing to do whatever it takes to survive. Her roommate Jonathan finds her a job at a gentleman's club where she dances for tips seemingly turning her luck around. She quickly finds out that making money here isn't the hardest part of her job. When Harrison Yates walks in one night the hardest thing for her is keeping to the strict "Hands Off" company policy. When the club is raided by the DEA Sam has to go on the LAM in a race to save her life. There is a whole new level of excitement that was missing from the second book on the heels of the first. The sexy anticipation I felt between Lexie and Trent is ten times more potent in this one not because of a steamy triangle. NO! This time the third party is DANGER. Pure and simple. Same finds herself being hunted by a mobster at the mercy of the man who makes her the most vulnerable.

A Little Too Hot was absolutely EXCITING! I don't think my pulse slowed down throughout the entire book. Getting to know Sam and falling in love with her was something I desperately wanted. I didn't like her while she was pawing all over Trent and OK, she was Lexie's best friend and she should have known her best friend had feelings for him. How do you not know your fucking BEST FRIEND is stupid in love with someone? I hated watching her flaunt her relationship in Lexie's face and had the preconceived notion she was a bitch. Thankfully though Sam was way more complex than I first thought. She too had been head over heels for Trent and seeing memories from her eyes was an honest to God eye opener for me and helped me not be so judgemental of her. She's had a tough go of things between her family kicking her out and losing her first love to her best friend, I started to see just how hurt she was. I ended up falling in love with Sam completely. She grew up and got a dose of reality she never thought she would see. Working at the gentleman's club and befriending some of the girls there was a really satisfying character builder because she made new friendships that helped her heal. The most rewarding part was watching her learn to love again.

Now to the best part, Harrison freaking Yates! This man was yummy. He was charming, sexy, and extremely gentle and caring with Sam. After seeing her dance he can't fight his attraction to her and hires her to dance privately for him several times. Together Sam and Harrison fight their attraction constantly due to the clubs policy but Harrison is hiding something that eventually throws Sam's life into chaos. The added drama of this hidden fact about Harrison was the most exciting of the series. He ends up pissing Sam off and they are thrown together again and again making the situations entirely comical at times with Sam's feistiness. Harrison didn't know what to do with her and knowing his calm facade was being whittled away made me feel victorious for Sam. He was so serious and with good reason. He's on a mission to follow in his father's footsteps and avenge his family after tragedies left him bereft. His story was so heart breaking and sad it was a no brainer why I fell in love with him too! You can't NOT love a wounded man who deserves love but doesn't believe it. Harrison was just a down to earth good ole country boy just trying to do what he feels is right until Sam turns his world upside down. As with all the guys in this series I lament the fact that I didn't get to see things from his Point of View.

The supporting characters in this book blew me away. Mainly Johnathan! He was a cocky, arrogant and very sexy rocker with a foul mouth and piercings! There was something about him that I couldn't help but love and I LOVED that he was Sam's closet friend. He was much appreciated comic relief especially during all the action. He's the one who gets Sam the job at the club and I worried for a long time that he wasn't on the level after several mishaps cast a shadow of doubt on him. The dangerous aspect had me on the edge of my seat and at one time I was fearful for Jonathan and Sam. I would love to see a book about Johnathan, even if it was just him banging his way down the western seaboard! He was that fantastic! I enjoyed knowing that Sam wasn't wounded enough to not make new friendships because her new bond with Izzy from the club and Jonathan's girlfriend Ginger were rewarding. I was very pleased that Sam got the closure she needed and mended things in her life that caused her heartache and found something amazing that she greatly deserved.

There was so much to love about this book. The danger, the excitement, the romance and the Heat. Desrochers knows exactly how to write a steamy NA contemporary that will have you salivating not just because of the story but the characters. The chemistry is so well written and palpable you almost feel like you're there amongst them. I am incredibly sad that this journey through the Too Far series is over now because I feel like I have lost something amazing but at the same time I wouldn't change all the fun, laughter and sexy romance I got to enjoy. I'm still holding out hope that there will be more books written in this delicious series! I will stand by my previous statements that if you haven't yet given this series a try then you have no one to blame but yourself because these books are PHENOMENAL reads!

Quotes:

Desire twists tight in my core at the knowledge that this man, who is by far the hottest man I've ever known, wants me. Looking at the need on his face and coiled in his body, I know for sure he wouldn't go eight months without taking me to bed. That look makes me feel sexy, and beautiful. It makes me pulse with need and ache in my most private places. it tells me that he wouldn't leave me waiting and wanting for even eight minutes. ARC 17%

"I'm usually pretty good at reading people, but not you..." His eyes narrow a little, as if he's trying yo see past my skin. "One second you're..." He tosses a hand in the air. "...and the next you..." His jaw tightens again, and he shakes his head in dismay. "You're the most frustrating individual I've ever met, and I've only known you for, like, five minutes." ARC 48%

"From the minute I saw you on stage that very first night, I've wanted this." he breathes in my ear, "but I never dreamed how thoroughly you'd blow my mind." ARC 91%
