Review: Resisting Her by Kendall Ryan

Book Synopsis:

From the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Kendall Ryan comes the sexy and seductive Resisting Her.

Agent Cole Fletcher lives for his job at the FBI, and he’s more than ready for his next assignment—raiding a cult compound and putting their leader behind bars. But he isn’t prepared for Savannah and her knock you on your ass good looks. At nineteen, she’s too old for foster care and too damaged to live on her own. With nowhere else to go, and against his better judgment Cole takes her in.

But helping her out won’t be easy. He comforts her through screaming nightmares and escaping the lingering fears of her past, but that’s the easy part. Her preference to sleep cuddled up next to his warm body, and her desire to please him in every way makes her harder and harder to resist.

So, I love a little visual inspiration as I read a good book with some heat. Here is the perfect guy for you to think of as Cole.

Cole Fletcher of the FBI wasn't looking for love. He had a history of being terrible at relationships and more than one skeleton in his closet. But he can't deny he is immediately drawn to Savannah when he rescues her from a cult camp. Thinking he will be able to clear her from his mind if he just checks to be sure she is safe, he finds her crying and lost not far from the safe house she had been taken to.

Cole breaks all the rules and takes Savannah home with him. He's determined to help her but also to resist his urges to have her. I have no doubts that you will fall in love with Cole too. He just wants to help Savannah and take care of her. When she has nightmares her first night at Cole's house he can't refuse her need to be held. As the weeks pass and they spend everynight in the same bed, Cole finds it hard (pun intended) to resist his need have Savannah.

Trying to keep things in perspective Cole agrees to go on a blind date arranged by his sister. Savannah doesn't question him but she has to wonder why Cole ever brought her home and what his intentions with her may be. Having always been sheltered and told that men only want one thing from a woman, she can only assume Cole has no interest in her because he never makes any advances on her. She finds herself really wishing he would. If she only knew what Cole was having to do to keep from exploding while thinking about her (no worries, the tells us exactly what he does to get some relief).

Cole is still determined to help Savannah create a normal life for herself. But wasn't expecting his medling sister to get involved. This leads to a date for Savannah with the neighbor and the blind date that Cole agreed to. I hated this part!! With all of Cole's manly needs he brings home miss slutty blind date and Savannah ends up with quite the show. Talk about an education, high def and live action. Now you may want to sit on a towel for what's to follow. In his need to comfort Savannah after the visual she just got, he gives her her first Australian kiss. Merciful heaven that was hot. I love that Savannah makes it clear after this that's she no longer the broken girl that he found but that she has needs and wants more.

Unfortunately things don't get any easier between them. Both have pasts that haunt them and Cole still tries to resist his feelings for Savannah. He has a major case of denial. Again he puts her needs first helping her get a drivers licsense, a car, and a job. But denial can only work for so long and then OH MY GOD the glorious release.

*giggles*, that's not really my sofa but you get my drift right. I feel like thanking the author for not rushing through that loss of virginity scene.

It may seem like I've told you alot of the story but there's still so much to tell. Skeletons need to stay in the damn closet when you put them there. Doesn't happen that way. They both have to face their pasts before their future can really start. I was worried the whole time about what Cole was hiding from Savannah but it wasn't as bad as I was thinking. You'll be thanking the author again the all the make-up sex and a wonderful epilogue that takes you to three years in the future. I loved Resisting Her and very much recommend all of Kendall Ryan's books.
