Review: Make Me Yours by Kendall Ryan

Series: Unravel Me #2
Genre: Adult Contemporary
Rating: 5 Stars

SYNOPSIS:

Emotionally crippled Liz isn’t looking for a relationship when she meets delish boy-next-door, Cohen. He’s a few years younger, a volunteer firefighter, oh…and a virgin, making him totally off limits. But never one to back away from a challenge, she’s drawn to him even while she continues to satisfy her physical needs elsewhere.

Even as she spends her evenings in another man’s arms, she somehow finds herself curled up in Cohen’s bed each night. It’s been a long time since she had a true honest-to-goodness make out session, but Cohen’s showing her just how much fun not having sex can be.
When Cohen’s injured, her real feelings for him rise to the surface, and she has to decide if she’s willing to take a risk on love after enduring so much heartbreak in her past.

MAKE ME YOURS is the sexy conclusion to UNRAVEL ME.

Liz isn't use to be rejected. But rejection quickly turns to attraction when she discovers the guy who wasn't interested actually lives in the apartment above her. Cohen is a student and a volunteer firefighter. He comes to Liz's rescue the night they meet when a bat decides to invade Liz's apartment. Cohen just happens to have a king size bed and no worries about sharing with Liz, just a friendly sleepover. To thank him for being so kind and helpful she makes dinner for two. It's too bad he's allergic to nuts and eats half of his dinner before realizing it had nuts in it.

What a way to start a sort-of first date. The date definately ends better than it starts with another sleepover. Only this time the heat between the sheets leads Cohen to admitting a huge package, I mean secret about himself. Mister Cohen just happens to be a Virgin. This little revelation causes Liz to avoid Cohen for a bit. When they run into each other he calls her on it and asks that she not get weird on him because of his confession. What better way to make up for avoiding him by inviting him on a weekend away.

Now when I think Virgin, I'm thinking no sex of any kind. Cohen can't claim to be totally new at this. Boy has some major skills with Australian kisses.

A beautiful weekend in heaven leads straight to hell. On their way home they come upon a car accident and Cohen jumps into action. As he helps with the rescue of the accident victims, Liz is losing her mind with soul breaking memories of her own loses. She pushes Cohen away and thinks she can just go back to emtionless sex with someone she doesn't care for and all will return to normal. But that's not how the heart plays the game. Liz goes with her heart and gets to meet Cohen's mommy dearest.

"I  rely on him, and we... can't have anything changing that."

Liz survives this meeting. Then guess what happens?! Cohen loses his virginity and OH MY GAWD is it hot. Too bad the greatness of everything  Cohen scares the shiz out of Liz. Poor woman. She finally has to face her past heartbreak. I was heartbroken hearted for her.  Her tragic love story would make anyone shy away from  love again. But of course Cohen is worth it. Liz almost loses him before she finally shares her past with Cohen.

The epilogue ties everything up perfectly. It's hot, sweet, and in Cohen's POV. I absolutely loved this book.
