Book Review: Ryker by Sawyer Bennett

I'm so excited for today's release of RYKER by Sawyer Bennett.
It's a must read!!

The rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

Globug's Review

This series just keeps getting better and better. Ryker has edged his way to the top as my favorite player on the Cold Fury hockey team. Other than being one of the best goalies in the league and worthy of being on the cover of GQ magazine I'd have to say my favorite thing about Ryker is his love for his two daughters.

I also love that he didn't turn into a man-whore after his skank wife cheated on him. His girls and his focus on the game become his priorities. The real game changer comes in the form of a sexy and oh so smart Gray Brannon. I loved her character right from the start. She's a genius with an MBA and skills as a hockey player as proven by her Olympic medals. Her father steps down and promotes her to the position of General Manager of the Cold Fury team and the biggest upset about it is because she's a woman. Which reminds me of another reason to love Ryker. He's one of the only players on the team that supports Gray and recognizes her ability to do great things for the team.

Ryker and Gray have undeniable chemistry but for Gray the risks that would come with getting involved with Ryker are huge. On the one hand Ryker isn't looking for a relationship but he doesn't do flings and he know's he wants Gray. I loved that for a woman who is so smart and strong willed as well as gorgeous and intimidating she also comes across as a sweet and vulnerable Daddy's girl.  She has one of the best Father's I can ever remember out of all the books I've read.

The heat between the sheets is crazy good. Ryker has oral skills that may require you to prepare for a moisture control situation. In true hussy fashion the ex-wife struts in hoping to reclaim Ryker. No worries, Ryker is not blind or stupid and he sends her packing but Gray almost let her ruin everything.

There are a few really sweet moments when Gray is getting to know his daughters. Another one of my favorite parts is when Zack, Garrett, and Alex help Ryker come to an understanding of what's more important, his love of the game or his love for Gray. Then hold onto your heart because Bennett drops a major bomb on the plot. I was ready to throw my kindle and blacklist her forever if she had let anything happen to Gray.

Bennett brings it around with a heaping pile of happy and oh my god Ryker and Gray are the best couple ever! I'm not sure how she can top this one but I'm anxiously looking forward to it.
