With a Twist {Review}

Love is somewhere near the bottom of Lily Thomas’ list of life goals, right next to competitive eating and underwater cave diving. She’s spent six years pirouetting and pliéing her way up the ranks of the New York Ballet with her eye on the prize and love in the back seat. But now that Blane Baker -- Lily’s long time crush -- is finally single, she’ll throw her rules out the window without thinking twice.

Reality with Blane isn’t as epic as the fantasy she imagined, and the truth sends her spinning straight into the arms of the man she never knew she’d always wanted.

West Williams has been friends with Lily since the day she moved into their building and he saved her armoire from a swift, sudden death by staircase. Their friendship has always been easy, the boundaries clearly defined. With neither of them willing to risk their relationship, they’ve drifted happily through the years as companions, never considering more.

That is, until they do. And that realization changes everything.

Globug's Review
I've had a real lady boner for guys sporting the "man bun" lately. I've always loved a scruffy face but it looks like beards are the big thing for men these days. So I knew I would fall pretty easily for leading man West Williams.  He's tall and lean, smart and driven and perfectly loyal and protective of his friends.

Lily was very likable but came across as a bit of a flake. Now that I think about it though I can actually relate pretty closely to her. In my early twenties I was just as stupid about guys that I crushed on. After years of crushing embarrassingly hard for Blane Baker Lily wastes no time jumping on his pony ride when he's newly single and interested in her. He is like a God in the world of ballet with a fantastic ass. What had me laughing out loud was how badly Blane sucked in bed.

When Lily and West first met they were both unavailable.They had years to develop their friendship and have been completely blind to their potential of being more than just best friends. Their group of friends could see it clear as day. Lily and West were the perfect match. When West realizes Lily is finally looking for love but in the wrong place it's like the veil is magically removed from his eyes. She's the One who makes him feel. The one thing he's been looking for all along is someone who could make him feel and Lily makes him feel everything. How he handles this new enlightenment is less than magical. I personally loved how he handled Blane's cheating ass when he catches him hooking up with some skank while out on a date with Lily. Their group of friends rally to make sure not all is lost.

I have to say it was a little daunting at first trying to remember who everyone was. Lily and West have a fairly large group of friends. I'm happy to say that Hart has a gift of taking a large ensemble of characters and weaving them seamlessly together to make a dynamic and fulfilling story about the main characters and leaves you anxiously waiting for more about those in the supporting roles. In this case I kinda loved that the bitch in the story is somewhat redeemed but the big douche canoe Blane is left like a used condom, discarded and useless. I'll be anxiously waiting on the next book in this series.

 Author Bio & Links

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife; even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k. From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
