She has a plan. He’s about to change it. Regan Wakefield is a headhunter in both name and personality: driven, motivated, and unafraid to pursue what—and who—she wants. Naturally, she’s thrilled when her friend's wedding offers her an opportunity to score Logan McCade, the practically perfect best man. Unfortunately, groomsman Brock McNeil keeps getting in her way, riling her up in the most delicious of ways. But Brock’s smooth southern charm isn't part of the plan...so how exactly did they end up having searing-hot sex? Regan may pretend the erotic electricity sparking between them is merely a distraction, but Brock knows better. She refuses to see beyond the devil-may-care façade he presents to the world, while he sees straight through hers. Changing her mind—and getting under her skin—is a challenge he can’t resist. And when he wins, Brock will do whatever it takes to convince Regan that the best man for her is him.

My Review:

Seducing The Bridesmaid was a story I was looking forward to so much because Regan is the smart ass city girl and Brock is the laid back sexy cowboy and that to me screams Sexual Tension. That's exactly what this was too, a delicious and sometimes frustrating push and pull between the two characters.

With the bridesmaids betting on which guy they want and both Christine and Julie set with their guys, that leaves Logan and Brock. Regan has her sights set on Logan seeing as how he's the more stable choice with his career as a CEO of a major corporation going for him. A corporate girl herself, Reagan is a "Take no shit" ball busting woman who's worked her way up to become one of the top head hunters in NYC. She's never been one to think about settling down but being at the wedding of her best friend is causing her to reevaluate the path her life is heading down. This is a subject I am sure many women can relate to. We all come to that point in our lives when we want to settle down and start a family. It's only natural to feel this way when you see people close to you, who you love and cherish, happy. Brock is NOT at al what she's looking for so why can't she seem to stay away from him? I'll tell you why, it's that sexy shit eating grin, his sultry southern drawl and his gorgeous sex hair that has Reagan hot and bothered. Me too for that matter.

Brock was an easy going laid back ind of guy. First appearances peg him as a simple country boy with nothing better to do than live off his family's wealth. Reagan sure does peg him for that but the more I learned about Brock, the more I started to love him. His family is wealthy and he's got a comfy position at McNeil enterprises but what most people don't know is that he grew and founded his own non profit organization that caters to abused women and children. After growing up watching Reed, one of his best friends, go through so much violence at a young age he vowed to help as many kids as he could. I mean, come on! Right there you gotta love this guy! The guy everyone seemed to write off as a country charmer who spent his daddy's money and bedded as many women as he could turned out to be the sweetest guy in the history if sweetest guys. What attracted me to him though was his insane amount of patience it took to deal with Reagan. GOD, she was a nightmare at time as and he still gave her chance after chance.

From their first encounter where Reagan took complete control seducing Brock to get the attraction between them out of the way I knew she was going to be a handful. With her controlling attitude and stand-offish behaviour towards Brock and just her general prejudice towards him turned me off and had me angry at times. There was a particular moment though where she won me to her side and that's when she finally showed the vulnerability beneath that thick skin. A moment when everyone but her is called in to begin a  search party for Christine and Tyler when they get lost in the woods and her feelings of worthlessness to her friends made me feel connected to her. I got how she felt because I've often struggled with the same set of emotions. She put it best when she said the reason for her hard shell was because to make it a mans world you either have to be a delicate showpiece or a ball busting bitch. It takes a while for Regan and Brock to get on the same page because she is still hung up on Logan as the better choice and when Brock's patience finally starts to wear thin you start to think it's not in the cards for them.

It took a while for me to warm up to the story. This one had me more on the edge of my seat with the angst between these two characters. If they weren't fighting with each other or fighting their attraction they were fighting against themselves and what they wanted out of life. Seducing The Bridesmaid made my blood boil, my heart melt and my pulse race. You'll definitely need a stress ball on hand when reading this but the soft cushiony landing Robert delivered in closing was well worth the fight.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa's knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back. Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way--as it often does--and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she'd like to write a book and try to get published. Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn't want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?  She now spends her time--when not lost in Far Reach worlds--playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

My Review:

So this was the story I have been salivating for since the first book in the series and what a perfect choice to go out on. The best man and the baby sister. I have waited for three books to get this story after witnessing several of this couple's encounters through the other characters eyes and couldn't wait to dive into the yummy goodness I knew was coming my way. Logan is tasked with watching out for Colton's sister Sophie to make sure she has fun during the wedding festivities. As Colton's college friend and roommate, Logan only remembers Sophie as the shy and chubby younger sister. When she arrives and he sees shes become a knockout grown woman all bets are off and friend or no friend, promise or no promise, Logan can only handle so much temptation as a man. One word that comes to mind as I reflect on this book is YUM! Another word would be DELICIOUS! the conflict between the best friend and the baby sister couldn't have been juicer. Logan and Sophie made so much sense to me. Her quiet, shy, happy to stay in the background personality mixed with Logan's outgoing, lovable and sexy demeanor was perfect. She needed to come out of her shell and he needed something to grasp onto in order to slow down a little in life.

Logan runs Defy Gravity. A company he founded that caters to rock climbers and thrill seekers. The week of the wedding is supposed to be his vacation from work but being the sole man in charge has him plagued by business calls constantly. With his company in the midst of a major contract acquirement he can't just shirk his responsibilities.  Sophie is just the distraction he needs but he tries to stay away even though she gets his blood pumping. It's hard to top Reed in all his broody and soft glory but Logan is a very close second. He's a very sweet, fun loving, kind and patient guy with a big heart. Really all the guys do to a certain extent but there was something tender and special about Logan. It could have been a mixture of his sparkling personality or his willingness to put in the effort to entertain his friends sister. Granted he had ulterior motives he still did it from a place of genuine affection for her and for her brother.

Sophie was the poor wounded sparrow/Underdog of the story. A modern day Cinderella minus the ugly step sisters. The wicked stepmother in this case is played by none other than Sophie's own personal insecurities. She developed at a young age long before the other girl in school and along with that came a certain brand of suffrage. Having grown into a busty b cup before I got into high school this was something I would see myself in. Sophie was teased relentlessly by the boys and joked about by the girls so there was a no win situation for her back then. She's carried that body image shaming into her adult life and hides herself from everyone. It's not all tears and heartache for her though because she's lost a significant amount of weight and has taken the reigns of her life and is slowly reinventing herself. the transformation Sophie goes through was, for a former chubby girl and now a grown fluffy adult, awe inspiring. the attitude that comes along with such a transformation made for some really great moments between her and Logan.

As I read through Best Man With Benefits one thing became absolutely clear to me. Logan and Sophie could NOT keep their eyes, hands and mouths off each other. I was already drawn into their magnetism as individual characters and a couple but the explosive way they came together behind closed doors was crazy hot. The new liberated Sophie takes charge of her sexuality and lives out her girlish fantasies with Logan and who among us hasn't wanted to do that before? I knew there would be some hot moments because this is a Brazen Imprint and they are synonymous with steamy romance but seeing a man be controlled by a woman the way Sophie does Logan was ... just... WOW. He gets his moments in the sweet spot too but for some reason it was just hotter for me to see Sophie take charge. Of course playing the angle of the best friends promise there is the tension build up of Sophie eventually finding out and being hurt but it was worked out pain free for the most part.

Best Man With Benefits was my first time with Beck's writing. I wouldn't have wanted to pop my cherry with any other story because Logan and Sophie had one of the best in this little Wedding Dare series. They were passionate, spontaneous, sweet and just plain freaking adorable. I didn't know when I started reading this that Beck has other McCade brothers she's written about and finding that out feels like Christmas day for me right now. More brothers like Logan? Sign me up! This series was the best two days I've ever spent binge reading and you really can't go wrong with a Brazen love story so check these out for your next steamy read.

  1. I like best man and baby sister trope! Reminds me of Tempting the Best Man. Also, I look book cowboys but not real life ones. Not sure what you call camel toe on a dude, but it's gross.
