ABOUT ALL THE PRETTY POSES:
He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

Strength…
It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it.  But she did.  Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater.  Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse.  In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe.  All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese.  That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness…
Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy.  Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one.  It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan.  It’s simple:  Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life.  That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her.  To save her.  Even if he has to save her from himself.

Globug's Take

Reese Spencer, rich-gorgeous-arrogant and a big time player. He's absolutely not looking for a relationship. Reese is the successful businessman his bastard father raised him to be. He'd be the first to tell you he always gets what he wants. It's too bad that what he wants now may never be his because he turned his back on her fourteen years ago.

First loves are never forgotten. Kennedy has spent the last fourteen years trying to forget the man that crushed her heart in ways he doesn't even realize yet. When Reese and Kennedy were just teenagers they found love. But he was like a prince and she was just the poor maiden. Reese was too young to stand up to his father and fight to keep that love. He's spent all these years becoming the last thing he ever wanted to be, just like his father. Now Kennedy has reappeared as a dancer in one of Reese's clubs and he expects Kennedy to be like everyone else that gives in to whatever he demands.

Reese really comes off like a arrogant prick in the beginning. I was getting worried that he wasn't going to be able to redeem himself. And honestly, I was happy he came through in the end but I'm not sure he did enough to deserve Kennedy. Unfortunately, Reese walking away from her isn't the worst that Kennedy had to overcome. Her heart was broken but it will always belong to Reese. She can't deny the desire she stills has for him and he can help make her dreams of dance come true. It's a little like trying to sell your soul to the devil with a clause that he'll release you at the end of the contract, no way you're walking away undamaged. The heat is unreal between these characters. Reese talks Kennedy right into a fully clothed orgasm (of course he also uses his hands when he talks). She wasn't the only one left sitting in a puddle.

Reese's father turns out to be the real evil in all of this. I wasn't expecting a few of the skeletons hiding in his closet. But you can always count on M. Leighton to give you a happy ending. I love that she also gave us a little more of the continued story of Reese's brother Hemi from the first book. I want more of these characters. This was another great read by M. Leighton.
