An accomplished lawyer and driven single mother, Ellen Callahan isn’t looking for any help. She’s doing just fine on her own. So Ellen’s more than a little peeved when her brother, an international pop star, hires a security guard to protect her from a prying press that will stop at nothing to dig up dirt on him. But when the tanned and toned Caleb Clark shows up at her door, Ellen might just have to plead the fifth.

Back home after a deployment in Iraq and looking for work as a civilian, Caleb signs on as Ellen’s bodyguard. After combat in the hot desert sun, this job should be a breeze. But guarding the willful beauty is harder than he imagined—and Caleb can’t resist the temptation to mix business with pleasure. With their desires growing more undeniable by the day, Ellen and Caleb give in to an evening of steamy passion. But will they ever be able to share more than just a one-night stand?

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book a while ago and have been sitting on my review to post closer to release day. What better day than on the day it releases right? Hot Romance and Ruthie Knox go hand in hand and her Camelot series is very romantic and VERY HOT!

Ellen Callahan is a raging bitch but she has good reason. After finding out her ex husband was cheating on her while she was pregnant no less, she had to toughen herself up a little. Being new to Camelot Ohio she had to rely solely on herself to take care of her son. When her pop star brother brings the paparazzi to her front lawn causing her to stress out she meets Caleb Clark who has been sent to guard her. Ellen is instantly attracted to Caleb but with her son to look after she fights hard to keep her feelings tamped down. She doesn't feel like she needs a bodyguard so Caleb being there all the time gets under her skin in more than one way. Caleb on the other hand is very taken with her and is trying to get through the walls she has in place. She fights him on almost everything he wants to do to secure her home, even letting him put a better light up on her porch. Caleb is such a good, sweet and attentive guy that it's hard to understand why Ellen is so fierce towards him. I get where she is coming from because like Ellen, I too have issues with men although I haven't had a guy like Caleb swoop in. The chemistry between these two gets hotter with every chapter until they can't contain it any longer. It was nice to finally see Ellen let her damn guard down and enjoy herself with Caleb. You almost start to think she can't be happy with anything.  When her ex husband comes into the story you see exactly what she had to deal with and realize why she has been so tough. Her ex husband is a complete douche bag, especially when he tries to use their son to gain publicity.

I love the way Ruthie actually uses her supporting characters throughout the story. Ellen's neighbor Carly happens to be a long time friend to Caleb and is the ex girlfriend of Ellen's famous brother which is why the Papz have hounded both women in the story. Carly and Jamie get some actual page time as they sort out their relationship and have some really sweet moments that were a big highlight for me. At first Jamie might seem as just an arrogant pop star but seeing how he cared for Carly was fantastic! I loved the way things worked out for these two in this book.

My favorite character Katie, Caleb's sister has some time in this book as well and there is some mysterious shit going on with her that I can't wait to explore more of in the next book. We find out she has a secret she has been keeping from her family regarding her man. I can't explain why certain characters intrigue me but it seems that the shorter the time span a character is involved in the story, the more I want to know. Seems to happen with just about every book I read.

With every book I read from Ruthie Knox, I fall that much more in love with her world and characters. Her romance's are hot, her characters are real and have issues that you get to see fleshed out during the story and the drama is always intense! Who doesn't need more drama? As Long a that shit stays in books and not up in my face! You gotta get hooked on The Camelot Series today!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Ruthie Knox figured out how to walk and read at the same time in the second grade, and she hasn’t looked up since. She spent her formative years hiding romance novels in her bedroom closet to avoid the merciless teasing of her brothers and imagining scenarios in which someone who looked remarkably like Daniel Day Lewis recognized her well-hidden sex appeal and rescued her from middle-class Midwestern obscurity. After graduating from Grinnell College with an English and history double major, she earned a Ph.D. in modern British history that she’s put to remarkably little use. These days, she writes contemporary romance in which witty, down-to-earth characters find each other irresistible in their pajamas, though she freely admits this has yet to happen to her. Perhaps she needs more exciting pajamas. Ruthie abhors an epilogue and insists a decent romance requires at least three good sex scenes.
