New Release!! It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

It's here!!! You can now read Colleen Hoover's latest book
 It Ends With Us
It's the best she's ever written!

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up. She graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant and has a total soft spot for Lily; and the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head, but Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan, her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all too human characters, “It Ends with Us” is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

Globug's Review

Remember back in Hoover's first book Slammed when she had the characters share their sweet & suck moments from their day? If you don't, then shame on you and go read Slammed now. Well in It Ends With Us Hoover has a new game between characters. They share their "Naked Truth." So here's one of my naked truths. I was totally one of those people that always wondered why a woman would stay in an abusive relationship. I always it assumed it would be a clear choice that if a man physically hurt me I would be out the door. I now stand corrected. I get it. I'm not sure anyone could have made me understand the emotions of living in that situation better than Hoover has done with this story.

One night of playing naked truths with Ryle, a complete stranger, was just what Lily needed to find the courage to go for her dream of opening a floral shop. She never imagined she'd see Ryle the neurosurgeon again. He just happens to be the brother of Lily's newest employee. Allysa is one of the brightest characters in this story. I just loved her. Ryle is everything a girl could hope to find in a boyfriend except he doesn't want to be anyone's anything. He's very set against relationships. He has a past naked truth that will come back to haunt him.

When Lily was 15y/o she kept a journal. After her father's funeral, Lily decides to read through a few of her old journals. Here's where Hoover weaves her magic. In those journals Lily addresses her entries to Dear Ellen, not dear diary. She pretended she was writing letters to Ellen DeGeneres. It was pure genius and made me feel even more intrigued and in love with this character. It's through the journal entries that we meet Atlas and I fell head over heels in love with that boy. You won't believe how broken he is. I wasn't sure at first why the author would have two perfectly sexy and swoon worthy guys in the story. I mean I'm not dense, of course I knew it meant there would be trouble in paradise for one of them but lord knows I was hoping for both of them to get the girl.

Just as Lily is fulfilling her dream and Ryle realizes she's the dream he never imagined he could have, the nightmare begins. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out when Ryle's past begins to ruin his future. It was at this point that I retreated to my back bedroom away from the curious looks of my family. It started with simple tears and a stuffy nose then quickly progressed to full on ugly crying with snot and sobbing hidden by a shirt held over my mouth. I'm not even exaggerating. I was overwhelmed by emotions the second half of the book. I was so confused by my sadness for Ryle. I realized what a great lesson I was learning about misconceptions people, including me, have about women in abusive relationships. It's not always a simple decision that the woman has to make. I was dying for Lily but so heart broken for Ryle as well. Atlas brings the sweet relief to all of the pain.

Hoover shares her personal experience with the subject matter in the acknowledgments. It is best to read those after you've read the book. I hope this review wasn't too spoilery.
